Hello!

My name is Phillip, and I have been, for a period of almost two years, been doing my research and planning for the move and experience of relocating to St. Croix. I have my reasons, and know that it is a positive thing in my life to do so. I have a wide array of marketable skills, ranging from skilled trade Concrete Flat Work, to high dollar Bartending and Serving, to the most recent and what seems to truly be my niche and gift as Patient Care Technician in a large northwest hospital. I am single with no children, and at this point am truly just seeking gainful and stable employment. I will respond to and consider all acknowledgement to this post. I also have stellar letters of recommendation from many sources. Please call 5093622276 or email me at phillippetty27@hotmail.com. I assure my intentions are great, as is my dedication to my success.

Thank you

Phillip: The first piece of advice that you received was that you will need to be on-island in order to find work and housing. That piece of advice still stands. I am gathering that you haven't had any phone calls or e-mails. That is kinda the way it works here. LOTS of people say they want to come down, but until they actually do, they don't exist to employers and landlords.

Yeah... I pretty much gotta second the last comment... I ve been here for about a year...
But the more marketable you are here the better off you are, but that pretty much goes anywhere... It is really tough getting started anywhere, but here is a bit tougher... Its the high season, so right now is proably the time to get here... because jobs are slim pickings in the summer/off season... but on the other side of the coin finding housing is tough during the season too...

I work at the University and got lucky my skills/edu/exp were really well matched to an opening, that paid pretty good too... by my gf had a real hard time finding GOOD work and dispite her degree she is working at a gift shop at Divi, pays okay but way the hell out there... but Divi is always hireing... especially at the Casino... and there getting ready to break ground on a new resort out West...

But the one thing is easier to find work is Educators and Nurses...

If you can avoid it when you get here try not to sign a lease, if you can... the longer your here the better deals you can find... plus just like everywhere else there are places you want to stay away from...

Politics are every where but we take it to another level... but if your a good person you'll do fine...
Do your research and have a good plan...
Good Luck

Absolutely right about the lack of contact, and I didn't expect too much...bottom line is just to bankroll myself comfortably, and do what is necessary when I arrive...Thanks!
