Want to move from Wisconsin
My finance and I are from Green Bay, WI and are looking to do something drastic and spontaneous like relocating to a beautiful place.. And we hate the cold. We are looking to change our lives by spending it in what we've heard is paradise and some day raising a family. Neither of us have ever been to the VI but we are very excited to be free enough to do it. Looking to move with the next 3-9 month-ish (depending on our home sale). Based on brief research I was thinking STT. I've been working as a Freight Broker for 8 years, she is a student but would be looking for work. Can anyone offer us tips and/or advice? We are good people just trying to experience life to the fullest.
Any Packer fans out there?
Thanks,
Matt & Michelle
Two pieces of advice:
1. You need to come for a visit/vacation/look-see.
2. Ask again on the general relocation board. This is the classified ad section, people are usually looking for specific stuff rather than information. 🙂
And to the freight broker- look at Tropical, or one of the other freight companies. And a student of what?????
DONT COME UNLESS YOU DO A PRE MOVE VISIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LINE EVERYTHING UP THEN. JOBS, LODGING, TRANSPORTATION ETC.
DONT MOVE WITHOUT A VISIT FIRST. SPEND 1500 AND SEE WHAT IS HERE FOR YOU.
IF YOU DONT HAVE THE 1500 THEN DONT COME. YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT.
JUST FOR LODGING YOU WILL NEED FIRST, LAST AND ONE MONTH SECURITY. OR THAT IS 4500 IF THE RENT IS 1500/MONTH.
I SPEAK FOR THOSE THAT HAVE COME AND WENT!!!!!
BILLD
"I SPEAK FOR THOSE THAT HAVE COME AND WENT!!!!!"
Bill: It is more like you SHOUT for those "that have went."
This is your second warning about getting your caps lock key fixed, bud. 😛
hey guys, east side of milwaukee transplant here! i've been on stx for almost a year now, and NEVER going back. this place is absolutely amazing. but i do agree, visit before you move. stx seems to be a bit easier of a move just because it's so much cheaper to live. but if you like dealing with traffic and thousands of tourist landing everyday, stt might be more your style. feel free to pm me if you have any questions...it's always nice to have a few more cheeseheads in paradise 🙂
we used to live in Kewuanee. Culture here is radically different. People are generally great. Alot more black people and hispanics here (duh) This is an exciting, culturally diverse home. You really should come down for an extended visit and get away from the tourist stuff and try out the real live of the island before making a commitment. On the other hand, we just up and sold everything and came. Figured it couldn't be as as Kewaunee......and it wasn't!! Just depends on how adventurous you are.
