Update on houses, apartments, condos for rent
Hello there everyone! I needed to update this list as things are very busy, and many rentals have been taken. Finding the right place can be difficult, however given many of the posts I see, these should assist in people securing housing. If you find something of interest below, please let me know and I will get you all available information. I will only be on island (St. Croix for one week, and then will need to go stateside for a week, so please, if you are interested, the earlier you contact me the better.

Hermon Hill: One apartment left. Approximately 1,000 square feet, one bedroom, terra cotta tile, large kitchen area, huge living room which could also have an office area added if desired. Functionally furnished, but fill in furniture would likely be useful. French doors lead to a private balcony....large enough for small table, several chairs, plants etc. $1,000 plus $175 flat rated utilities. Cable and DSL access can be had....cable already installed, just need to get digital converter box. Laundry room available on premises, 2 washers and 2 dryers, coin operated on a room behind a wrought iron door. Very Crucian/Spanish type building with archways and wrought iron. Storm shutters built on to all glass.
East St., Christiansted: One, one bedroom and possibly studio still remain. Completely renovated and completely furnished with all new furniture...right down to curtains and throw rugs. Studio $800, one bedroom $950. Beautiful apartments. Off street parking soon to be fenced in. In a revival neighborhood....amazing the amount of work and upgrades to the area around building. Local phone, basic cable and DSL included in rent, other utilities paid by tenant. Application and 1 month security required.
King St., Christiansted: Studio apartment and 2nd floor one bedroom apartment. The second floor is rather like a tree house, looking down on a courtyard with a meditation pool. Lovely. If you make contact, I will find current prices as I am covering these right now for an associate who is away.
Estate Solitude: Absolutely gorgeous 1 bedroom guest house with wrap around porch. Kind of like a gingerbread house. The location is one of the finest on the island. Pool, multiple sitting/ lounging areas, barbeque, gardens and native rock built walkways. Just about mountaintop, so terrific breezes and views of the Caribbean. This truly is one of the finest areas I have seen, and the apartments are all immaculate. Great community of 4 apartments and this one separate house, sitting above on the hill. $1,600 plus security. Available for showing just after September 15th. I do not impress easily, and I am truly impressed with this one!!
La Grande Princesse: The old 'bed and breakfast' has been reconstructed beautifully into 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. These are unfurnished, but are huge! The two bedroom apartments are 1,500 square feet, basically the size of a house. These will be renting for $1,400 per month, but as the on site laundry building is not completed, nor is the outdoor community room in one of the 'green' areas, the rent now for the first two units is $1,300 per month plus security. Separately metered. The one bedroom units, again, huge have two openings coming up in the next week or so, and will also have a reduced rent of $1,150 per month. Off street parking is gated ,with an electric gate. Ample parking for both buildings (10 units total) and still has room for several huge green areas with gardens, palms
and lawns to relax in. 2 'blocks' from the beach near Pelican Cove. 2 of the initial 4 units may already be taken, so please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have.
Southgate Estate: 2 houses, each $2,500. The Pool House- 2-3 bedrooms, private pool with a covered kitchen, living room and dining area beside the pool. Ultimate indoor/outdoor living. Inside, living room, 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, washer/dryer...huge room was intended for a dining room, however has often been used for a large office or a 3rd bedroom...or both! Separately metered. The "Island House" has again 2-3 bedrooms, new construction and furniture. 3rd bedroom is off of master with a built in captain's bunk. Could be used instead as a sitting room to make a master suite or as an office. 2nd bedroom has its own bathroom, so would work well for an in-law set up. Huge living room, eat in kitchen with upscale appliances (all new). Porch has incredible view of Green Cay, Buck Island, the Caribbean North and in the other direction, mountains, pastures, valleys, etc.
Please note: All other listings from the last post have been leased so we are coming close to hitting maximum capacity. Regardless of where or from whom you find a house or aparrtment, please do not delay in securing something that you truly like. This year shows more people coming to the island since I arrived some 4 years ago. Just a suggestion to assist in not getting closed out.
For PMV's: There are several parties who do short term, reasonable PMV rentals with us in Cotton Valley, Bugby Hole, etc. 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms available. Please send your requirements and dates, and I will get back to you with options in this arena. If we do not have anything available, I also know of individuals who are also renting space for PMV's, and would be happy to refer you to them.
