I realized I posted this in the wrong place - is there a way to move a post or do I just re-post?

Columbus landed over in Salt River, we don't exactly have Thanksgiving dinner up there, but i'm sure some people camp near there. Thanksgiving is pretty much celebrated here as it is in the Mainland, dinner and such. Usually everyone has off the day of and the day after. We have a big Thanksgiving potluck dinner at the beach - everyone brings something, we deep fry and BBQ turkeys, and beach it for the day. I'm sure others are more conventional. Most places will be closed, but grocery stores will be open. No parades, but we do have a Jump Up around that time which is a party in Christiansted at night (6-10) where all the stores are open with sales and specials (so you can shop for christmas), there are food vendors and live music, and everyone walks around.

I worked with an old Crucian lady that said the Friday after Thanksgiving is always a day off. She referred to it as "S--- Friday" because you spend all day getting rid of dinner 😀
