Substitute Teachers
A Christiansted private school is looking for substitute teachers. We would like to build up our pool of substitute teachers who would be available to fill in for grades K through 12, as well as administration and office substitutes. We would like substitutes to be at least 21 years of age, be flexible, patient, creative and have some background working with kids. This is an ideal job opportunity for someone looking for occasional work. College students, housewives, retirees, and adults with handicaps - anyone who has experience working with kids - are encouraged to apply. Substitutes will be paid a stipend of 65 per day. The school day begins at 8:10 and ends at 2:30. All our classes have between 10-15 students per class. Teachers will have lesson plans prepared for substitutes.
To put your name in the substitute pool, please reply in a private message to this user with your name, phone number, contact email address, a brief summary of your experience working with kids, whether you want to fill in for high school, elementary, kindergarten, office work or anything, the phone number of one personal character reference, your availability and the best time to call. Thanks.
Hello! My name is Amelia Casey, I am fairly new to the island and I am absolutely dying to substitute Kindergarten and/or Elementary level students. I have worked with kids of all ages and academic levels on St. Croix, in New Hampshire and in New York. I have a bachelors in English from the State University College at Buffalo, New York. I plan to pursue my Masters this fall in Elementary and Special Education. I love working with kids and I am available anytime you need me. My email is casey.amelia@gmail.com. I have a resume and more references available as well. Thank you so much!

My name is Michael and I just moved to St Thomas. i am currently living in Red Hook but am looking for a place of my own. I am a college graduate. My major is cultural anthropology with minors in cultural issues and comparative literature. I also had 6 years of Spanish. I am interested in substitute teaching. I do not have a car yet so I would need to be able to use public transportation.
Michael:
Christiansted is in STX, it is not commutable from Red Hook so public transportation is not an option
