Go to the STX Animal Shelter, help save a life. Sure you can find a small dog there. Rescues are the best.

Cute, but looks like it wil probably get bigger!
There is a pomeranian mix listed, no photo yet. Its alwasy worth checking out! They get new dogs in every day!!

Thanks very much for the suggestions. This info plus the other post on Flying with a Small Dog is very useful. I'm really interested in a Yorkie, easy to travel with so I guess I'll just hope one shows up at the shelter. What's the chances though? Pomeranian is usually so cute too, and nice personality, but they do require so much brushing.

There are so many great types of small dogs - I have a mix between a Jack Russel and a Chihuahua, She is 12 lbs.
I normally like big dogs but Rascal was abandoned and in the 10 days I had her at home and seeking her owneror a new caregiver,
she wormed her way into all of our hearts. (without worms and already spayed, I might add.)
She gets along great with the rest of my pack which include 120, 90 and 45 lb dogs.
They are a good group of brothers and sisters to her which is a good ting as Shadow could put almost Rascal's body into her mouth.
Rascal is an excellent watch dog and they all make me laugh and protect each other and the property.
They are my Love Puppies (Yes! I realize that sounds so corny!)
My gang are all rescues. I love each and every single one.
Go check out what's available at you local shelter and fall in love.
