Hello,

I am a student coming to St. Croix for an internship at the court this summer. I will be staying there throughout the months of June and July and need a place to stay those two months. Please message me if you have any suggestions on where I can locate short term housing. I would love to find a roommate or guesthouse but all suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

I would like to stay as close to $500 as possible. Is that unrealistic? Also, because I'll be working at the courthouse, I would like to find a place not too far from Christiansted. Any suggestions?

Hi Amber, I have a friend who has an apt. but it would be out of your price range and it's not located in Christiansted.
Not sure what you will find for $500 a month.
Just keep looking on this board, hopefully something will come up.
Good Luck!

Another question. Most of the interns/students, etc. that I have heard from work at the Kingshill courthouse. Are you sure you will be in Christiansted?

I'm going to be at the District Court... the address is 3013 Estate Golden Rock, which I thought was in Christiansted, but I could be wrong. Is this the same court you're thinking of?

Also, regarding my budget, while $500 would be ideal, my range is $500-800.

Thanks everyone!

Amber,
That is NOT Kingshill, and it IS Christiansted (well...almost Christiansted). It's about a miles out of the center of downtown. It's about 2 miles from my apartment complex. I may have an efficiency in that range. A little too soon to know for sure, and you would need a car. There is a bus, but it doesn't run often. You MIGHT be able to work out a carpool. We have a tenant that works there and another that goes right by there on the way to work. Just a thought. You can take a look at our website at http://www.virginislandsrentals.com. Take a look at the pictures for Studio 2B. If you like, send me an email, and I'll be glad to keep you updated when I know for sure about the timing. casita37@hotmail.com

Another option, if you won't have a car, is Long Reef, Bay Garden or Easterly. You can walk from those. I don't know which Realtor can help you with those, but I bet someone on this board will contact you.

You need a car on this island, plain and simple.

Your range of 500-800 is def. feasible, esp. if you are ok with having roommates. Finding a place by yourself for under 800 would be tough though. Juanita's place is great for getting started. Lived there for a month when I first moved down and got settled. The last thing you want to do is sign a long lease without seeing the place first. Her place is centrally located to most places. Working at the courthouse, anything outside of C'sted is fine. Even East End won't be too far of a drive.
