I need some advice about how easy it is to sell furniture on STX. I see the classifieds section on this message board and that there's some Craigslist activity but is there a demand? Long story short: I'm moving into a furnished apartment on STX but because of my job's moving assistance, it crazily seems easier to ship my few apartment furnishings (sofa, IKEA wardrobe, West Elm bookshelf, IKEA bar table) and sell it on the island. Thoughts?

Do you have the option to take cash in lieu of moving the items and sell before you leave. Potentially saving the company and you some time and $.

Sell it there, if any furnishings are not solid wood.
Particle board stuff doesn't have a demand here.
Post items and pics on Craigslist or in your local paper.
Why have the hassle and expense, in time and money of shipping, clearing customs and getting those items transported to where you live only to go thru havng to sell it here, taking up more time and space?
