Hello there! My 'island car' is slowly becoming more and more a part of the island as what I choose to call 'spare parts' have fallen off in several locations on STX. I have returned to work after a long absence on disability, and seek a vehicle that is small, safe and in good condition. I have contacted several people, but have not heard much back. If anyone knows of a truly great deal, where I will not have to worry about repairs for a couple of years beyond normal maintenance, could you please get in touch with me by PM? Although ideally I would like something in the $5,000 area, I am a bit flexible on that.

PS: Due to my spine, and steel framed vehicle such as a Jeep would not work. Small Toyota, Kia, etc. would be preferable. Thank you.

Dan, I wish you a sincere good luck on your car hunt. We have been looking for approximately the same type of car a month now.. and as my pregnancy progresses I am finding it more and more difficult to deal with the heat in my non-AC car on my daily commute to Good Hope.
I hope that those who are thinking about moving to the island read these posts too and will be able to better determine if they should be bringing their current car with them. Even if they only use if for a little while and decide that they want something bigger, as long as the car is a 4 cylinder with working A/C and under/around $5000 they will definitely be able to sell it quickly ..........

PM me if you have such a car or know of such a car available. Thanks in advance. Yvonne" The only responses were for non-car type vehicles i.e. small SUVs or Jeeps.

We are still looking for a nice little car like a Ford Focus or a Toyota Echo... nothing fancy, just something running, clean and with AC.
Thought we had one but she sold it this morning.
Not looking for an SUV nor a Jeep type of car.... please pm us if you have one or know of one...
