roomates on STX?

My fiance, my two dogs, and myself are trying to relocate to STX. We are having trouble finding a place to live. It seems to me that it would be easier to rent a house long -term. Due to financial obligations that is impossible for us to do it alone. It seems to me after looking at a lot of rental sites and talking to realtors that you get more for your money with a house than you would with an apartment. I am a chef hoping to work at the cultured pelican. My fiance will hope to get a job at the buccaneer. I am 31 she is 28. We are from New York, Long Island to be exact.
