Recommendation for Upholsterer
A couple of years ago Ric & I got a great price on a very well made sofa and loveseat. Not our color taste and they didn't match each other, but a great price. Both have loose cushions on the back and 2 side pillows.
I recently bought solid-colored matching slipcovers on-line for the furniture and then took all 9 cushions to Drapery & Upholstery VI in La Reine to have the loose cushions and pillows reupholstered with a matching print. We picked them up today. The are beautifully made, fit like a glove, and LOOK GREAT. Price seemed fair to me, about $300 for everything. The best thing is, we went over Friday afternoon, picked out the fabric we wanted and placed the order. Norma called at noon today to tell us to pick them up. 5 days, including a holiday weekend!
So if anyone needs drapes or upholstery, I can heartly recommend this business. They are back on the road behind the Kingshill post office. The sign in the road says VI upholstery.
I've used them several times, and I highly agree!
We've used them since Hugo and send folks to them often...when we did short term rentals they would always accomodate our rental schedule, and with advance notice to them things were always back in our places before the next tenants arrived...You can bring your own fabrics as well...They've done everything for us from full sofa reupholstery to making cushions and the covers, to just cushion covers, hemming drapes bought at Pennys or where-ever, they even "remodeled" sofa cushions for us ("acquired" a rattan frame, and got/found cushions and draperies that someone no longer wanted, and she made them fit like they were made for it..!). Mr Cave used to refinish furniture too...also has an accounting business...very nice folks. They pick up and deliver too, but that is of course extra...
Do they do marine upholstering? Boat cushions?
Does anyone know a good upholsterer in STT?
