First of all, it took you three days to respond to the original post anyway. Then, I was off-island where I thought an internet connection would work and it didn't so upon returning to the office (now) I got your PM and this rude message. Don't worry, it's not the job for you anyway from this response. Good luck with your search.

A tad biting aren't we? Remember - we are on an island - and if everyone knows where Val works - then a phone call to follow up isn't out of line. Besides - without knowing what the reason for her delayed response was - it could have been anything - on this island even if it is shining sun out - you don't always have power or internet or phone. Rudeness isn't necessary. And definately not how I would approach someone who I want to have hire me.

If you send a private message, you have the option of storing a copy in your Sent folder. Then you can easily see if that message has been read yet or not. If it hasn't been read, then you can safely understand that you aren't being ignored and that the person has been kept from logging on for some reason.

Your five day timeframe included a weekend filled with holiday parties and a parade/street fair, which often keep people too busy to be worrying about job inquiries until they go back to the office on Monday. It sounds like your response to the posting came during the weekend. Many people aren't in the office over weekends and it would be a rare thing for an employer to call on a Saturday or Sunday to set up interviews. I have never heard of someone being hired after ranting at a prospective employer for not responding at the speed the applicant expected. That usually gets an application fed into the shredder.

HawaiiKai......You need to change your screen name. You are not representing our Hawaii and our Aloha spirit. I don't know who this person (vshoppel) is and it doesn't matter your post was out of line.

Wow,

i was in the islands when all this "BLUBBERING" WENT ON. I just found this post. Can you tell me more about the position, still available, any information.

I am a Master Pilates Instructor with over 20 years in the Health and Fitness Industry. I work alot with rehab patients.

I am planning on moving to the island this fall/winter. I will be bringing all my Pilates Apparatus, and setting up shop!

Would love to chat with you,
Cameron

Cam, this original post is 5 months old - I daresay vshoppell filled that position - there may be another - but people are resurrecting REALLY old threads right now and tagging off of them......I encourage everyone to read back to the beginning if you can, but before posting - please check the date and don't bring up a 30-message string from way back when - info can change a lot in a short period of time, particularly regarding employment.
