On St. Thomas: Needed immediately- furnished apartment with washing machine that will allow cats. Prefer $800 range for apartment.
Need used vehicle in good driving condition. Do not care what it looks like or how many miles as long as it will run reliably. Can pay $700.
Need to begin a job at the hospital in February.

Welcome to St. Thomas! Have you spoken to anyone at the hospital, whoever recruited you perhaps? It is highly recommended that you secure short term rental while you are looking for your more permanent place. Check with Ronnie at http://www.crystalpalaceusvi.com/. He might also be able to steer you toward a car, although I believe you will need to increase your budget quite a bit. You should also look here (classified) for cars. Good luck!

Thanks! Currently staying on Water Island. Only 1 week left till the job starts. Apartment is big necessity.

Assume you've checked craigslist for rentals? There are of course scams on there but if they're not readily apparent when you first look at them, the first response to email contact reveals all. I agree with East Ender that your vehicle budget is unrealistic. Maybe you should first look for something on a bus line until you have more money to invest in a car.

Yes, checking craigslist daily. Have given up on a vehicle for now. Have to find an apartment this week or give up the job. The real problem is that the apartment must allow pets.
