Need a Roommate 1/2008 in STX
I am moving to STX the end of January and the apartment I was going to rent, is not available. ....so in looking for other places, it looks like I will need a roommate to afford the cost of living there...
I am looking for pet-friendly places for my golden retriever puppy who is island bound as well....
I'm a 27 year old female, currently a therapist/clinical social worker....who decided to move after visiting friends on the island this past September. I am applying for therapy jobs on STX but still the cost of living is outrageous compared to salaries!
I am open to male or female roommates... and have a long list of former roommates that will vouch that I'm not a crazy loon 😉
Reply for more info if your interested 🙂
Seriously suggest you come without the dog to find and apt and send for the dog later. You will be hard pressed to find temp housing with a dog.
I am actually planning to find a long term lease for a year so I can bring my dog, because I have no one to watch him in the states.
As has been said many times on this board, it is risky to rent, much less lease, without first seeing the property.
if you have your friends look at rentals for you, you can hopefully rely on their reports as to whether a property is desirable to live in or if it is to be avoided. There are very few rentals that allow pets and they will become scarcer by the time you expect to arrive.
To help you locate a compatible tenant, you might want to post the amount of rent you think you can afford per month and others with the same budget might be able to join with you to afford a rental house that will allow pets.
I have a large 4-BDR, 3-BTH pet-friendly rental that will become available around the end of January/start of February as the current tenants are purchasing a condo that should close around that timeframe. It makes a good property for roommates as there are three separate living areas, a garage, and lots of room for everyone to stake out their own space. 3-4 roommates together should find it very affordable.
Hello, I am Anthony, 30 yrs old and Rebecca my giflfriend of 6 years, also 30 are possibly looking to move to st croix in febr maybe march but could be even sooner. we have 2 friends that live there but we are looking for the cheapest but safe place to rent, short term or long. We have been looking but not much available till jan-mrch. I wa told there would be plenty avaiable by owner but we would have to be on the island to ind these because they dont advertise anywhere but local, if you know anything or have any ideas let me know. we are from florida and were in the realestate business but i will probably want to do restaurant work, as i am experienced in cooking and management or if think i want to stay in st criox long term i will do realestate appraisals as that is what i have done for the last 5 yrs. rebecca has finished massage therapy school and is ready to take the final exam if she can find work doing that. look forward to talking to you, thanks
Anthony
