Moving to STJ

Hey my girlfriend and I are moving to STJ from Norht Carolina at the end of October. We have been looking at different places but think it would be cheaper if we had roommates. We were going to try to get a place before we got there but friends of ours that have lived there said it would be better if we just went down and found a place. Let me know if you would be interested in living with a guy and girl we are 25 and 26 and will be working in the restaurant industry.

My boyfriend and I will be moving down Nov. 1st... we hopefully have locked down a place via this message board. Just wanted to let you all know that the guy you see with all the rooms for rent by the name of Don is highly recommended by a few people as far as short term rentals. This way you can stay there month to month till you find something on the island. Connections is the place to start it's right off the ferry next to the park. We would have went with Don but we have 4 pets so it was a bit harder to find a spot... wish you all well and hope to toast a drink to island living with you all soon~

Will be trying to head down there for good mid to end of nov. I need a roommate and do not mind sharing a bedroom to keep costs down! Was planning on going to connections to try to find an apt and/or roommate but would prefer to go down there with a place already. Connections is a great place to find a room or apartment. At the moment there are a lot of listings posted there. I moved to STJ about a year ago and stayed with a friend for a few days but was able to find an apartment and a job within the first couple days I was on island. Unfortunately STJ is so small that many people dont post jobs or living quarters online and want to talk to you only if you are already on island. At the moment there are also a lot of jobs open because all the seasonal workers have not made it to the island just yet. The earlier you get here the better off you are at finding a better apt and a better job. Also, just be very friendly and approach people. People on this island are more than willing to help out kind people. If any of you are looking for a car for when you get to island I have two for sale along with a double size mattress. I feel like I'm late in the game on this one, but started reading all the posts and got excited that there are already so many people all in the same boat making connections on this thing! My name is Heather, I'm 29 and moving to STJ on Nov 1st! I am staying with a friend of a friend when I first get down there but will be hitting the ground running looking for a job (prob at a restaurant?) and an apartment (preferably w/ roomies). It would be sweet to meet up with people that are on the same track when I get there...in a week and a half! For those of you who are there already I'm open to any advice, words of wisdom, good stories, etc...hope to chat with anyone and everyone!
