My wife and I are looking for a one- or two-BR place to rent (house, condo, apartment) on STX January through April 2011. We are a professional couple with our own consulting firm who like to get away from the cold of the north for the winter. We don't need anything fancy--just something clean, safe and simply furnished where we can work and relax. North shore or mid-island is preferred, but we'd consider other locations for the right situation.
We can provide landlord references if necessary.

You might find someone here who knows of something special, but... I found that, generally, you can't really start looking for January until towards the end of November. I know it's very frustrating, because you feel like you're waiting until the last minute, but that's "island time, mon". 😀

I know that it's definitely OK to wait, but the past two years we've been able to lock up our place by July--so, hoping to have the same luck!
