Hello!
I'm taking a year off before college in 2010 to live in St. Thomas and get certified as a scuba instructor. I'm trying to plan ahead a little bit so I don't find myself stuck without a place to live when the time comes to move down there.
Living with a roommate and splitting the rent would be the ideal living situation for me. I'm going to be living cheaply, so my price range is only about $300- $500 a month.
I'm a very friendly person and easy to get along with. I'm not too messy and my things don't take up much space. I'll be moving to St. Thomas around August 2010. I'm not actually looking to solidify living arrangements this far in advanced, but it would be nice to know what's available and what my options will most likely be.
If you know of anybody who will also be looking for a roommate around that time or think you may have a room to rent within $300-$500 a month, please contact me!

to be totally honest with you, you'd probably be better off on st croix. cheaper to live, and the diving is a lot better. i'm an instructor for SCUBA (stcroixscuba.com) we have people that come down and do the exact same thing as you. i would strongly recommend at least getting through your rescue course before coming down. it would be no problem to find housing on stx in your price range. let me know if you have any questions, you can email me at jon@pooghe.com

I can rent you a refrigerator box in STT for $400/mo(no utilities)

unless you share a two bedroom with 4 people or more you will find it difficult to get to your price in STT. At least in an area you would want to be in.
But good luck as I can't even come close to what you want.
