Leasing a car in STX . . .
Good afternoon all,
Is this something any of the car dealers do, and if so, who does? (not a car rental place that does monthly, looking for a real lease option)
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Sundial
I don't think they do leasing here like in the States...I could be wrong, but I don't see any advertisements for it, like I did when I lived in America...anyone know for sure?
I just came across Acura, looks like they are leasing on STX, get a Acura cheaper than renting the smallest car possible from the rentals, but you need to do a 36 month deal AND A+ credit. Which is OK, as I plan on staying on STX till I die =)

Marty, you may have been right about that, the lease deal I noticed was off the main Acura website, they probably listed the STX dealership, as just that, a listing and not a leasing dealership.
So I'm guessing there might not be leasing on the island? Any help here would be terrific.
Thanks,

PS - This is weird . . . I had a St. Croix phone book from last year, I tried calling 3 or 4 dealership, they're phones are not in use, as in they are ALL out of business, how is that possible? Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Suzuki ect. ect.
The only number that still was working was Toyota!
Many of the contractors who do long term jobs on STX use Antilles Leasing in Estate Glynn. It's not a car dealership. But may be an alternative to a monthly rental..
Yeah Acura doesn't have a dealership on STX - so definitely no leasing options from them. None of the dealerships will lease cars. I think Antilles is pretty expensive.
Just checked deeper, there are a few places that lease, but that's all they do, they aren't dealerships, they buy from dealers and then lease them back out. And you're right - a bit expensive.
I guess if its not short term, you're better off just buying the car with payments or a outright purchase if possible.
What was I thinking . . . LOL!
Things are very different there, have to shed the notion of things being remotely similar to the states. I can see that having a vehicle on the island is going to amount to a major expense (compared to the states) when you factor in insurance, with the exception of gasoline.
From what I can tell, my best bet, is to simply buying a car there.
