Kitchen Cabinets
If anyone knows where I can get inexpensive kitchen cabinets or knows of anyone selling used cabinets, please let me know.
Amery Industries on STX sells Real Wood, knocked down cabinets at a reasonable price. www.viphonebook.com.
I installed them in my tiny kitchen and they are proving to be very attractive and durable.
I have done a lot of research. You can get RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets from several websites. ADI is the best over-all that I've found. You can get all wood, or MDF (medium density fiberboard, which is not the same as particle board). MDF is very inexpensive if you get the ready to finish and paint or stain yourself. Depending on your needs, they can be just fine. They obviously won't last as long as wood, but you should get many years out of them. I have solid wood cabinets, and I am replacing the doors with MDF in a beautiful glazed finish. When I want to remodel again in a few years, it won't be painful to just replace the doors again. You would need to ship, probably via VI Cargo, but since they charge by the cubic foot, and the cabinets come broken down, it might not be too bad.
There is a bit more to it than just ordering the cabinets. You have to consider toe kicks, filler pieces, etc. That's where the pros come in handy. They won't forget about all that little stuff. Either Armrey or Gulf Coast (and others, I'm sure) can order them for you. It will cost a bit more that way, but they measure and take care of the hassle and also install.
Also Caribe Hardware carries an inexpensive ready made line.
you can get them ikea.
they are knock down and are pretty good quality.
and there is home depot here in STT

Cabinets are not available at Ikea on line. Actually, very little Ikea can be ordered on line. You would need to go into a store, or have someone else shop for you and ship them. Very inexpensive, though.
