As if moving wasn't awful enough...
Came back to the old place to find stuff missing. I guess they hopped the fence and broke in. If anyone sees any of these items being sold on the street or elsewhere (together or separately), please let me know.

Orange and Silver Go-Ped Motorized scooter (this will probably have the best chance of finding, as i guarantee that no one owns this)
Brand new fishing rod (blue) and reel. Purchased from Bass Pro.
Spear Gun with yellow rubber pull
Dell computer - a few years old, smaller monitor. the hardrive will have information that we can definitely identify...if they haven't cleared it all.

Might be a few more things...let you know 🙁

i guess all the neighbors knew we were moving out - and coming back daily to do so. but we lived right behind the salvation army in Fsted where kids played soccer, so it would be easy to scope it out. what it looks like is that they took the trash cans and filled them up with stuff and left.

I had a house broken into in Whim in May and they utterly GUTTED the place and took EVERYTHING. Furniture, appliances, housewares, linens, dishes, artwork, sporting goods, hand tools, power tools, even the water heater, cistern pump, pressure tank, ceiling fans, faucets, lights, etc. I really mean EVERYTHING. They must have had several guys and multiple truckloads to empty a house so completely. The police took 3 hours to show up when I found it and they were shocked at the extent of what was taken... yet said straight up that they would not catch whoever did it and they wouldn't recover anything at all. The security bars had been forcibly ripped off of one of the bedroom windows for them to gain access. If someone wants in, they're gonna get in!

Yea. Its strange how so much can happen in such a tiny island. I haven't heard anything like that and I come from Philadelphia.

It's not just in St. Croix. I moved all our stuff into a house in West Kennebunk Maine on a Saturday, we were to start living there on Sunday. Sometime after I left in the early evening crooks backed up to the house broke the door and took everything. When we came and discovered it we freaked. We asked neighbors and one said he saw a truck but assumed it was just us moving more stuff. We never got anything back but we did OK with insurance.

we saw the go ped driving around in Frederiksted - right outside Rainbow Beach. Followed him, asked him about it, tried to get a cop involved (she really could have cared less, said she would tell another officer). he said he got it from someone, it wasn't stolen (yeah, right!). just a matter of time before he sells it to someone else and we see it riding around...

I never understood people stealing cars and such on the island. How far a you gonna get?! You're on an ISLAND for gosh sakes!! - Although I've seen dead cars, washer, etc in the overgrowth along the roads - I know - but still - sheesh!

Good luck & sorry for your loss.
