Hello there! Happy New Year everyone. I hope this year brings you all peace and good health.
For those of you seeking housing, most of these are places that I am currently managing for Calabash Real Estate as a property manager on STX, a couple are just living opportunities I have heard of. I will try to be specific, and if not open immediately, I will put the date that it/they will be open.
Solitude, East End: Small studio, stand alone apartment. It is small, but has everything. Is being renovated now just so it is upgraded a bit after several years of occupancy. Terrific pool, wonderful views of the Virgin Islands, PR, BVI, Buck Island etc. Two decks with built in benches are directly in front of this studio. Perfect for an artist! The rent of $750 includes utilities unless the overall electric bill exceeds $500- (which it has not, so I would not expect it to with the falling electric rates). Kitchen has most basics for cooking and eating. Outdoor huge grill, bar and lounging area. Can show by appointment only.
Also at Solitude, the same property as above, there is a one bedroom lovely apartment with all of the same ammenities and rent again includes utilities unless the electric exceeds $500-, then is split between several tenants. Absolutely gorgeous. Rent: $1,400, 1 month security and no pets. This will be open close to Feb. 1, 2009 (perhaps a day or two before)
Vista Del Mar: 1 bedroom condominium, unfurnished with nice sized living room, eat in kitchen, bedroom, bath and gallery. One unit away from a large pool that overlooks Buck Island. Completely renovated this year, excellent condition. Utilities in tenant's name. approx. 2.3 miles from Old Christiansted. Asking $900 per month, however will consider reasonable offers.
Constitution Hill: Huge, 2 bedroom, 2 bath house on large lot. Pets allowed. Beautifully achitected and furnished with attached office. Enormous kitchen and living rooms, very nice and well furnished dining room..... was $2,800-, now asking due to economic consideration: $2,200 plus utilities. A great deal of house for the money. Close to mid island, shopping, Hess/Hovensa and Christiansted. Open now, viewing by appointment only.
February 1st: The Reef Condominiums: Fabulously redone one bedroom condominium. All the ammenities that the Reef has to offer. Highest quality in all furnishings, TV, sound system etc. Rented prior to even being offered! Will be open as of Feb. 1st for $1,500 per month, possibly for short term stays. Please contact for daily/weekly and month to month rates. Washer/dryer in condo. Excellent for professional single or couple.
Hermon Hill: Last of three units available. Secluded, extremely large one bedroom with French doors leading to a lovely porch, side yard, laundry room on premises, close to Questa Verde. All basic furnishings included. $1,000 and $175 in flat rated utilities. Should gas run out for stove, would be tenant's responsibility. built architecturally in the old Crucian style, with archways and wrought iron. Truly a great place. Avail now by appt.

I will be moving to St. Thomas March 10th for a teaching job and looking for a one bedroom, fully furnished apartment/condo for rent. I will be looking to sign a 1 year to 2 year lease. Not looking to pay more than $1000 month.
I am VERY interested in the Solitude studio and Hermon Hiil Condo.

Good Day,
I need a clean studio or 1BR from Feb 1 to Feb 9 on STX. Will be looking at real estate and business opportunities to determine if STX or STT are worth pursuing. More work than play.

Hello there! Sorry I did not get a notice of your posting back to me. I will look today and see what I have. Generally, the rents start at $225/day, $900 per week and then varies a great deal for longer. I believe I will have a two bedroom guest house in Cotton Valley for $200 per day at that time. The weekly rate is 'rent for six nights, the seventh night is free". The owners will be back on island in a week. In the meantime, I will call them and see if they will be prepared for guests at that time.
I also know of a place in Bugby Hole, lovely with a pool for $500 per week. On a great estate. I will check with them as well.

Hello there again! I would like to keep this posting as updated as is possible, as such:
The Reef: 1 Bedroom, posted above. Some utilities such as WiFi will be included. For shorter term rentals, all are included, and the rate is $200 per day. Also, PLEASE NOTE: The owner will consider reasonable offers from people who have very good references and will be renting from 6 months to 1 year.
PMV spaces:
Guest House, Cotton Valley: Available as of 2/15/09. $225 per day, stay six nights, seventh night for free. Rentals up to two weeks okay, longer than that, special consideration from owner must be granted.
Bugby Hole: Wonderful, one bedroom, entire first floor. Spacious, washer/dryer, kitchen, whole apartment faces out to south shore, Half Penny Beach in particular. Is taken until mid-April. Get off season reservations in now. $200 per night.
