Hello all,
I, unfortunately, had to cut down a few large Mahogany trees that were growing way to close to the house. I thought someone may want the wood, for crafts, carving, benches, or whatever. It is a shame to see it go to waste, and I have no use for it. PM me if you are interested.

You might call St. Croix LEAP 772-0421. The guys name is Cheech (no kidding) and the do wonderful things with wood. He would have the ability to haul off your trunks.

Just something to throw into the mix. Why would you give it away? The price of mahogany is $20 per square ft. A lot of square feet in a large tree.

I know its valuable, and I would love to sell it, but I don't know who on stx buys raw mahogany logs. I have been clearing around the house, and really have my hands full ,right now its just in piles, and I would be happy just to get rid of it .
If anyone knows who buys raw logs, please let me know , I will give them a call.

Hey Dante,
From what I know and have always been told, cutting down mahogany trees is illegal and you could face a hefty fine, even on your own property. For example, the williams and punch project must figure out how to build around their mahagony trees since they can't chop them down for development. LEAP only uses wood from fallen trees, which is the only legal way to "harvest" the wood.
