A friend of mine went to Caribbean Promo Mart today to order stuff, not realizing that the owners are away on fraud charges. These people have 14 dogs with no homes now. If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting these animals or learning more about the situation, please let me know and I will get the info from my friend. So sad.

That is so sad.
I know the guy that was arrested had contacted a friend of mine to take care of one of the dogs but then he never got back to her. She was told by him that someone was coming in to take care of them and that a friend of his from the states was coming down. Who knows for sure what is going on.

Brian at Reliable Rentals has been trying to take care of them. I have spoken to someone on this board who is contacting him about maybe adopting one, if the temperment is good. Unfortunately, these pups are probably going to have abandonment issues and, judging by the description of the area they're in, some medical bills to ensure that they don't have anything. IMO, i don't know how anyone can responsibly and fully care for 14 dogs and give them all needed love and attention.

Are these dogs truly abandoned? Does the shelter need to be called? Please don't wait til they are suffering to contact the shelter. that is one of their best chances of adoption. I know someone who used to try to care for these dogs and there were a couple that were aggressive. Hope they are getting the right people involved.

I talked to someone who works with the shelter and is on this board. she said she would contact AWC after speaking with Brian at Reliable Rentals. I know he was trting to place them before bringing them to the shelter, so i'm not sure what's going on now.
