Hi All,
This may be premature, but I like to plan ahead as much as possible. My husband and I (in our early 30's) and our 3 cats are moving from NYC to STX on July 1, 2010 and are looking for a long term rental (Min. 1 year lease). I am accepted and returning to the university for the fall term, and would love to have things lined up before classes start.
We will be in STX for a 10 day trip from April 16-26th and would ideally love to see some places in safe areas that might be avail by July 1. We are looking in the range of rent from $700-$1000/ month. Again, we have 3 cats that would be coming with us (adult, well-behaved, clean cats) and I understand a deposit for them may be required.

Good morning Rebecca,
Just to make sure you know, you will need one person per cat to travel with them in the airline cabin, unless you plan to check any of the kitties as cargo. And please don't do that; it's a horrid experience for the animal.
In addition, check in advance with the airline about their pet limits. Most allow up to four animals per flight, but for some it is only two. You will need to make a pet reservation, which is usually paid at the airport, and double-check it before you travel to make sure it hasn't been lost in the system.

Hi,
Yep! I'm aware of the regulations, and would never stow a cat! They're my children really! LOL
My aunt will be coming to help us with the move a couple days later than us with one of our cats in tow 🙂
Thanks for the advice though, I wouldn't be as prepared for this move without this site over the last year!
