They wanted it, they got it. Who's complaining?

What do they want? For decades they've been fighting for equal rights. Equal pay for equal work. Everything equal. Equal, equal, equal. Even being eligible to enter the military. They raised hell because it was discriminatory to keep them out of the military. First it was too hard and they changed the requirements because they're women. Now they don't want to go into combat because they're women. What did they think they would be doing? Fluffing pillows, cooking meals and doing laundry? You wanted it, you got it. Make up you minds!:S

What the hell are you ranting about? Who are "they"? Listen-up partner, NONE of the women I know are held to lower standard.

I'd agree except I know very few women that could drag me (5'11" 215lbs) out of a fire fight if I was wounded; or last very long with a full combat load of gear on ( I weighed mine in Iraq, it was 83 lbs minus my weapon (M-4))

Other than that, I don't see why not , I certainly didn't really want to be there, if some else's wanted to I would have given me a shot (no pun intended)

if women want to do the same job as men-have the same requirements for them. if they can't haul the same weight as a man than they should not get in whether it is the military, police or fire.

Liquid, I know very few men who could drag you. I'm just saying we should not generalize (pun?) when it comes to ability to do a job. If there is a man in the military who weighs in at, say 170, should he be eliminated just because he can't pull your weignt?

Women were frowned on for acquiring a higher education at one point....more then 50% of medical and law school grads now made up of females.
I agree on physical standards being met whether male or female as is cognitively or educationally. Should qualify and meet required credentials for any position.

The New Membership Mission builds a strong presence for our sisters-in-arms. Welcome sisters to combat arms units. We now will refer to the women and men as brothers-sisters-in-arms.

No Women in" the Combat Arms positions" was a DOD policy. The" Woman's Vote" had nothing to do with this new historic position. The old opinion of DOD was that they didn't think the male soldier would fight aggressively side by side with a mother, sister, daughter next to him. That he would be preoccupied saving the female soldier in battle. DOD doesn't really pay attention to male or female voters. Presently the military physical test is different for male and female soldiers. The females should be able to do the same performance test as the males.

most the infantry guys I work out with are my size or bigger.. lots of gym time apparently.. haha

I've been combat drug by a guy that was around 160, it's not really that they have to "pick you up" we have protective gear that also serves as "handles" to be drug by (the interceptor body armor has a handle sewn into the upper back of it) as a part of our Combat Life Saver (CLS) training we have to do body drags & various other things.

I'm just stating what I observe, no judgement really, I served with many females & think they are generaly highly professional and do not suffer from the boyish behaviors I see in a lot of their male counterparts.

Yep I'm about 15lbs over my allowable weight, I get "taped" when I weigh in.. muscle is a lot heavier than fat (not to say I don't have any.. last time I was checked I was at about 19% body fat, we are allowed up to 23% (or maybe 24%?))

I'm usually heavier in the winter up here and lighter in the summer, I swing 20lbs a year easy, I'm just not a winter guy & love beer 😉 haha

Presently the military physical test is different for male and female soldiers. The females should be able to do the same performance test as the males.

Not only that but training obstacle courses are often modified for females as well, it was a touch frustrating for me as a younger man, but I don't care so much anymore.

I do agree (and KNOW it's possible) everyone should be held to the same standard.

I can do over 80 pushups without stopping in my allotted 2 min test time period pretty easily & know females that can do the same, yet they are held to a MUCH lower standard for testing; I understand that males have a certain upper body strength advantage, but it is no different than the advantage a 6'8" guy has over a 5'4" guy when it comes to other activities.

They are. It's been in the news for the last few days. They have to meet the same physical requirements as men to go into combat and they don't think it's fair. How fair is it going to be to other soldiers in the field if they can't perform the same? As soon as something becomes too difficult they want special treatment. I just get so sick of hearing that people want to be treated as equals and then as soon as the requirments become too tough then they spin it to sound like it's being done to them on purpose. But as long as it's convenient it's just fine.

Why is it socially acceptable for women to behave badly. They can hit, kick, slap, bite, curse their man and nothing happens. I know someone that was pummeled by his girlfriend in public until she split his eye open and there were at least 50 witnesses. The police were called and she wasn't arrested. I guarantee if he had so much as grabbed her by the arm he would have been arrested on the spot. Why?

How is it another friend got sole custody of both of their children because his wife is mentally unstable. He was awarded child support by the court and she has not made a single payment for 18 months. She claims it's because she can't find full time work. All the court has done so far is revoke her driver license for non payment. What do you think would happen to a man for not paying his child support?

Women can blame their behavior on their menstrual cycle, PMS, or any other biological function and literally get away with murder.

If a woman teacher has sex with a student who's a minor she gets off because she has needs. If a male teacher even says anything suggestive to a female student he goes to jail.

And last but not least. Women can abandon their household. Leave their husband high and dry with no means of support and then come back and stake a claim to whatever they want. If a man were to do that he goes to jail.

Again, educate me. I love to read!!! Provide a source!! If this is indeed occurring, I'm sure you can provide some sort of source that confirms it? Obviously I'm not getting the right story from the coconut tv (or the NYTimes, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, The Economist, Time Magazine, Huffingtonpost, Newsweek, BBC news...etc etc).
