VI Consortium Gripe
As popular as this forum is I cannot believe the Consortium (VIC) does not monitor this board. So, for those programmers of VIC, here is my gripe.
STOP trying to be 'cute' with:
1. Telling us to be impressed with your Facebook followers with a pop-up,
2. Clicking on a topic and having it 'bounce' (or, whatever you call it) to some needless photo of Chucky, Mapp,or some other 'cutesy' photo of the story followed by the content. Just as I start reading the story it bounces back to a picture,
3. I understand egos, but, it's time to drop the Ernest branding banner after the story and go straight to the comments.
IT'S ANNOYING! And, you would probably have more eyeballs if you cut out the so-called 'cutesy effects'. I just want to read what you post without having to wait for your 'cutesy' distractions to finish.
Most of the writing is good and I would encourage you, or your programmers, to eliminate the 'cutesy' and get to the point about the story. Otherwise you may go the way of the horse and buggy and Dodo Bird sooner than you would like.
Just my 2 cents...
VIC does monitor what we say about them on this forum. I know because they wrote to me about my comments here as they banned me from commenting on their page. They ban anyone that disagrees with a political slant of their story, anyone that supported ABR, anyone who questioned anything that they write.
In fact, someone started a facebook page just so they could comment on VIC stories. The VIC Banned Users Page!
https://www.facebook.com/viconsortiumuncensored
I notice that since they've banned almost everyone, there are only a handful of their friends and paid comment. They've chased away readers.
I still comment, and then do a screen cap of the page with my comment. Then I send it to their advertisers to show them how VIC treats their readers.
The bottom line is they don't care what YOU think about their blog.
The VIC Banned Users Page continues to gain a loyal following and I appreciate the support.
for some reason i was banned from posting there, might have only posted 1 time before. nothing rude or crazy either
I don't post there but do read from time to time.
I have to agree with Novanut.
I'd probably read it more often if ALL of the things Novanut mentioned were not such a nuisance. The "cutesy" distractions are more than annoying and irritating. I just want to read the articles and comments and move on. Don't care how many Facebook likes they have nor do I like waiting for the stupid thing to load.
Jeeze! Give it a rest!
