Heh, I know it is a slippery slope, I had some reservations about posting this here. Still, Israel can do fine on its own and does not need to be the people we give the most money to (besides our defense budget).

We didn't start 2 wars in Iraq because of Israel; didn't start and continue with the longest war in US history in Aghhanistan because of Israel; we don't have a drone program in Yemen and Pakistan because of Israel. We have been supporting Israel's military since the 50's. Find something else to boo hoo about.

Why am I not shocked that no one talks about the billions other countries are receiving - only complaining about Israel. Been the same crap since the beginning of time.
If you’re wondering who else is a major U.S. aid recipient, here’s the rest of the top 10 from 2008: Russia ($1.3 billion), Sudan ($1.2 billion), Tanzania ($1.1 billion), Ethiopia ($1 billion), Pakistan ($963 million), Colombia ($888 million), Jordan ($833 million), and Mozambique ($799 million). The totals reflect both economic and military aid.
Where are the complaints about these countries - or is it just easier and does it just make everyone feel better about themselves to rip on Israel? Hmmmmm.

Funny. I thought at least part of the reason terrorists want to kill all of us is because we back Israel. That's what caused the Jihad and 9/11. I guess we went to Afganistan and Iraq was because we had a surplus of cruise missiles.

Osama bin Laden claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks. Al-Qaeda and bin Laden cited U.S. support of Israel, the presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia, and sanctions against Iraq as motives for the attacks. US invaded Afghanistan to wipe out the Taliban which harbored AL-Qaeda.:-o

And you really need to look at the per-capita amount of Aid there is - Israel, per capita, gets far more US aid than any other country.

It is interesting that Israel, using US financed military equipment, sold highly sensitive arms to China:

Officials accompanying Israel's Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, on a visit to China confirmed that Israel had done deals but would not elaborate. The CIA told the committee the Chinese were seeking from Israel technologies that Western firms were unwilling to provide.

Well if the US government has a say in it, he did - to the point that we executed him. This is a terrible mess that we have spent probably 30% of our debt (funding from China no less) and will continue.
