Question everyone...

I posted this photo yesterday in the 'ISS Spacestation thread'. It was taken by Scott Kelly when he was aboard ISS in February. What did he take a photo of down below? 😀

Levi Stadium in San Francisco. SuperBowl 50

Yes! Levi Stadium!

"....On the evening of Feb. 7, 2016, Expedition 46 Commander Scott Kelly snapped this photo of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. from the International Space Station, writing, « Got to see the #SuperBowl in person after all! But at 17,500MPH, it didn’t last long. #YearInSpace »...."

More fun, anyone? 🙂

1. Why is it easier to walk on concrete as compared to sand?:

A. sand is soft and concrete is hard
B. the friction between sand and feet is less than that between concrete and feet
C. the friction between sand and feet is more than that between concrete and feet
D. the sand is grainy but concrete is smooth

2. Inside an airplane, flying at a crusing altitude:

A. the pressure is the same as that outside
B. normal atmospheric pressure is maintained by the use of air pumps
C. the pressure inside is less than the pressure outside
D. normal humidity and partial vacuum are maintained

3. Light travels at the fastest speed in:

A. glass
B. water
C. hydrogen
D. vacuum

4. Light from our neighboring star, Alpha Centauri, reaches the earth in:

A. 4.2 seconds
B. 42 seconds
C. 4.2 years
D. 42 years

5. On a stationary sail boat: If air is blown from a fan attached to the boat, the boat:

A. moves in opposite direction in which the air is blown
B. does not move
C. moves in the same direction in which air blows
D. spins around

Due to lack of facts and a host of variables not presented, you may delete the next Question (#5). Thanks, Swan

STX's VLBA antenna...

The Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) is a system of ten radio-telescope antennas, each with a dish 25 meters (82 feet) in diameter and weighing 240 tons. From Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the VLBA spans more than 5,000 miles, providing astronomers with the sharpest vision of any telescope on Earth or in space. VLBA has an ability to see fine detail equivalent to being able to stand in New York and read a newspaper in Los Angeles. Image Credit: NRAO.

The Very Large Array: New Mexico:

"....One of the world's premier astronomical radio observatories, consists of 27 radio antennas in a Y-shaped configuration on the Plains of San Agustin fifty miles west of Socorro, New Mexico. Each antenna is 25 meters (82 feet) in diameter. The data from the antennas is combined electronically to give the resolution of an antenna 36km (22 miles) across, with the sensitivity of a dish 130 meters (422 feet) in diameter....." *-)

G'day everyone,

Welcome to Mt. Everest. In light of the dangers and disasters clearly reported throughout the years regarding the hundreds of victims, whose lives have been claimed by this mountain, five more fatalities have occurred so far this past week.

Asked why do you want to climb Everest? "Because it's there."

I am still firmly in the box. Trying to escape so I can think outside of it. I think Doug and JJ will need to help me with this one.
