A funny thing. My wife has been an ast. mgr. for a box store here on stx for five years. In that time she has been called many things in the course of doing her job. a "mutter... something" I had to research and others she is accustomed to from retail for 40 yrs. But racist? Oh yea. You know the ones the louder they yell or cuss they gonna get their way. NO. So she a racist for following company policy. Ok. Now the funny story. She was talking to a coworker and joking around and as the separated the workers child said to her mom "she don't act white", her mom said, "she not white, she Canadian". So if any of you want to be PC while in the BOX and looking for her, she de Canadian. And she aint racist, just company oriented. And the fun is just beginning.

There are three races on STX: black, white, and Canadians dem. That's because the Canadians dem were so frozen back home, that their skin color is not easily determined.

After 10 years here, my skin has turned a nice amber color similar to Cruzan Dark Rum. Not sure why.

too funny

at work i am known as the little white black girl. or just black girl.

mutter ? is not a good thing to be called, that is actually ( what i hear ) one of the worse things you can be called.

eagleray-sounds like she is well liked by her fellow workers.

Mutter: a barely audible utterance, especially a dissatisfied or irritated one.

Mulatto: a person of mixed white and black ancestry, especially a person with one white and one black parent.

You said that you were called a "white black girl", which makes me think that you meant to use the term "mulatto".

Mutter, in this case, is only half a word. Think "mother..."

Thinking... dear mother ... mother nature ... mother Teresa ... mother of God ... do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk ... mother sc ... oh, I see.

It would have been more clear from the start, if more traditional Crucian spelling was used:

Mother = Muddah (not Mutter)

The word muddahscunt is a derivative, well defined here:

I don't think that's right. Here is my understanding:

muddah: "mother" in Crucian
mutter: the way white people of St Croix pronounce "muddah" when they imitate Crucian
mudder: the way white people of St Thomas pronounce "muddah" when they imitate Crucian

Other opinions, please!
