Orcas Need Your Voice at the #MacysParade
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I'm lucky enough to be able to spend the day enjoying a delicious vegan meal with my wife and family—however, most of the orcas at SeaWorld will never be able to spend another waking moment with their families. That's because the marine park separated babies from their parents and flew them across the country to perform for strangers, breed, and languish for the rest of their lives in tiny pools.
Tomorrow, millions will watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with their families, but most aren't aware that SeaWorld will have a float this year. More than 75,000 people have already called on Macy's to cancel the float because it represents the miserable lives of the animals imprisoned at SeaWorld, yet Macy's has chosen money over ethics.
Orcas need your help! PETA is organizing a Twitter takeover for Thanksgiving Day. Please tweet your disappointment about Macy's endorsement of SeaWorld with the hashtag #MacysParade.
Here are two sample tweets to use (or please write your own message):
Shame on you, @Macys! @SeaWorld's orca abuse is nothing to CELEBRATE! #blackfish #boycottseaworld #macysparade
Orca abuse is @Macys SHAME! So disappointed u kept @SeaWorld's float in #macysparade! #blackfish #boycottseaworld
Be sure to include our image with your tweet!

On Thanksgiving I'm lucky enough to be eating tasty animals - Turkey & Ham. Yum!
Good for you.
Wish the captive Dolphins, Orcas and other intelligent captive marine mammals were free to choose their own foods, families and lives in their ocean home.
