Missouri Drug Cop Says Marijuana Legalization Advocates Are Stupid Welfare-Sucking Potheads Who Probably Can't Read
"A Missouri Drug Task Force cop addressed Show-Me Cannabis, the pro-marijuana legalization group, at a town hall meeting in Cape Girardeau last Monday and engaged in a civil discussion about the benefits of marijuana legalization.
But when Sargeant Kevin Glaser of the SEMO Drug Task Force got home, he unleashed on Facebook, basically calling the legalization advocates a bunch of stupid potheads.
Here his Facebook rant, unedited"
Be sure to read page 2, it has a good comeback.
EDIT: an interesting comment on that article:
"I'm a law enforcement officer myself who has attended graduate school and reads about 50 books a year--and I favor total legalization of marijuana. This is the kind of control freak a-hole who gives cops everywhere a bad name."
I'm a retired cop, who didn't attend graduate school and never read books, I wait for it to come out on video. So I can see both sides of that particular coin. Yes, some if not quite a few of the supporters of legalizing the drug more than likely partake of a smoke or three. I never have myself, but I do support ending a never ending battle that has cost this country billions if not trillions of tax dollars to be no further along than we are on this war on drugs.

I'm not a retired cop or active cop, I went to some graduate school, and I read a lot, and I agree. 🙂
I thought the second rebuttal point made by the organizer against this officer was very interesting - that he wonders if this officer arrests "potheads" as an enforcement of the law, or if he is actually prejudiced against those he sees as slacking losers of society. I realize it's impossible for anyone to be truly impartial, but this is yet another effect of the so-called "war on drugs." It's quite often a war on PEOPLE, not on the drugs themselves.
Marijuana is illegal? Who would have thought? Its available everywhere.
Im just curious for those who do smoke... does it make you productive? Do you want go go out and make a difference in the world after you toke up? Hows your work ethic after smoking a bowl, can you work a 8 hour shift without too many mistakes? Hows your focus and reaction time when you drive around town.... stoplights and stop signs? Honestly asking... just curious.
How is marijuana different from alcohol in this respect? Should we go back to prohibition? Or maybe treat them the same.
AandA, reread your question and instead of "smoke" replace it with "drink bottle of wine".
Its illegal to drink and work and also drive drunk. Of course people break the law with alcohol just like all pot smokers are breaking it now.
Again I was legitimately asking the question above.
For me personally I can drink an entire bottle and be able to function pretty damn good... I also don't work or drive drunk thou. Typically after drinking I become more productive especially cleaning lol. I also don't get shitfaced drunk lol. One puff from a joint and I am incapacitated - can't focus on anything and have horrible internal monologue issues after eating everything in sight. Thats why I am asking.
I also don't remember (its been 10 years) that I could be "a little" high. I can have one beer and have absolutely no effect but one puff and I'm high.
I was trying to suggest that the two are alike. It is all about responsibility. You shouldn't smoke and drive or smoke and go to work either. But in the privacy of your own home or at a bar, how are the two different? It's all about freedom and responsibility.
For me, if I take a couple of Benadryl's they knock me on my ass. I shouldn't be allowed to drive or fly or do work after taking them. We all react differently to different drugs.

Productive? Well I depend on if it's Sativa or Indica being smoked; Sativa is more stimulating & Indica will put you on a couch... but neither are going to have you cleaning your bathroom at 3 am..

Huh? how many people go through their entire lives and don't make a difference.. I suppose this is all up to the personality of the consumer eh?

work ethic? why would you be getting intoxicated at work or while driving?!?

I'd say as intoxicants go they are very similar, you can imbibe "just a little" from either one.. if you ever smoke again, approach it from a "I don't want to get shit faced" stand point, I think you'll see self control works with both substances.
I know people who hardly seem to breath with out smoking Cannabis & it seems that it builds a tolerance, much like alcohol when used frequently.
so other than being healthier for you and just all around better; Cannabis is somewhat like alcohol.
