Monday, 2/22 Tonight....:@)
Time: 6:55 p.m.
A 6 minute run @ 40 degrees over the horizon
Arriving from the NW and Departing to the SSE (NW to SSE)

Wednesday, 2/24
Time: 6: 47 p.m.
A 6 minute run @ 50 degrees over the horizon - basically the same run as Monday.
Arriving from the NW and Departing to the SSE (NW to SSE)

Hey Swans! I think I saw it a little while ago. Looking towards the east it came from the left heading towards the southeast!!! A single bright white light, def not a plane because it didn't have blinking wing lights.

Islandjoan, if the timing was 'right on' from 6:55 pm, and you saw a bright, nonblinking light gracefully gliding towards the SSE, then it is ISS you saw! I'm pretty sure it was she, otherwise any other aircraft would, indeed, have blinking lights. ISS 's brightness is due to the sun reflecting off of her.

Tomorrow evening, at 6:47pm., start looking at the NW sky. You'll spot her and be able to follow her for a nice 6 minute run as she continues to the SSE and disappears.

Pretty nice sight; with binoculars, and a steady hand, her solar panels can be seen.

yes it was just around 6:55 and it was a steady nonblinking light heading to the SE! Pretty cool! I had forgotten about it, until I saw it, so I didn't have binoculars handy.
I will make a point to remember to go look tomorrow night. Thanks for all the cool stuff you tell us about (tu)

Timing of NASA is exact. (I have added an extra minute to the Arrival time so as to allow us a little extra timing opportunity to locate the direction from where she will be first spotted).

Oh yeah you did originally say Monday and Wednesday! When I read it for some reason I thought I was reading "Tuesday" haha!! oops on me!

I'm sorry you missed her flyover, Islandjoan, but, unfortunately, we are at the mercy of cloud cover and weather. She will be back though, giving everyone opportunities to see her.

G'evening ISS friends: Guess who's coming for a visit!

Sun., June 19th.
Time: 7:50pm.
A 4 minute run @ 35 degrees over the horizon
Arriving from the NNW and Departing to the E (NNW to E)

In order to locate ISS, "Degrees Over the Horizon" is given in each sighting opportunity. To help locate ISS, the following method may be applied:

The sky is split up into 360 degrees. To get a general idea of how to measure degrees, extend your arm out from you, make a fist, and the distance from the top of your hand to the bottom is about 10 degrees. To check it for yourself, extend your arm and fist out toward the horizon. Then place your other arm and fist on top of the first and alternate them until you have counted to nine. You have just measured 90 degrees and your arm should now be straight up over your head, as it is 90 degrees over the horizon. I hope this helps.
