I didnt bring a drink
Could someone please give me one?
Love the new board I cant wait to have some spirited debate!
Vodka, rum or beer? *-)
I'd be happy to share the bottle of Pinot Grigio I just opened but, alas, I arise before 5AM these days and in a couple of hours or so I'll probably be zzzzing off after watching a bit of the goggle box! Consider a cyberspace glass already sent. Virtually enjoy. 😀
Gees I guess I am in the wrong place to be a recovering alcoholic! Diet coke for me thanks!
That's one thing about living in the USVI. So many people drink to excess.
And if they don't drink, one usually smokes weed or does other drugs. Some do both-drink and drugs.
I'm not here to judge one's habits, but it is hard to make good friends with someone who isn't all there and in an altered state of mind.
I don't go out to bars much, but when I do, you see the same people, usually sitting on their favorite bar stool. Bar flies abound here on island.
Just my two cents.
I don't see anybody drinking too much or any other kind of alcohol substance abuse problem...........signed, your bartender. 😀
My habits do not inhibit me from being all there, and I am only in an altered state of mind while I am sitting at the bar thankyouverymuch.

I know....!! Much more widely accepted in the islands v. Continent. A larger "bar-centric" population.
Alcohol and drugs alters one's state of mind and does inhibit your responses. I don't like making conversation with a person who is drunk and/or high. Their conversation wanders and doesn't make sense.

Not just "bar-centric," but drinking at the beach, in the water, pretty much everywhere.

in the car (vi antiquated open container law)
before work (and on the job, too)
in line (this is understandable)
ok all you madd mothers lets take it easy. nothing wrong with a drink now and again, (and again).

Seriously! Adults are allowed to imbibe from time to time. And, Beachcomber, I promise not to engage you in conversation when I choose to do so. 😎
I never said an adult cannot drink. It is when the person is falling off the barstool that is bothersome and when they are blubbering on in your face.
Who says I'm a mother, loungestx? News to me 😛
Some of the posts on these message boards would drive anyone to drink!;)
Why does a "drink" have to mean alcohol?
Why does a "drink" have to mean alcohol?
Because it's the VI!

Waiting on people
Me- "can I get you a drink?"
Customer- "no thanks, I'll just have water"
My thoughts to say "well you can wash your hands in the bathroom"
Ha Ha Ha!!
.....if you make the sobriety thing work in the VI, you can make it anywhere.... Congrats!.
Diet coke on ice for y'all.
Jamison, when I get that answer, I reply...they tell me that's not just for bathing anymore.
A "beverage" is any potable liquid, but a "drink" is a cocktail or a beer or glass of wine. I don't know why that is, but even in the states, when I worked at restaurants that CLEARLY didn't offer alcohol (ie, Cracker Barrell) people would still tell me no, they'll just have iced tea!
