The Humane Society of St. Thomas is challenging our community to find homes for 30 dogs in 30 days.
These "forgotten 30" are looking for a forever home-- so come help save a life!
Attached are photos of most of the dogs and here are their bios.
For more information please contact us at 340-775-0599.
"OCTAVIOUS" - 1 yr old 10 months neutered male Terrier mix. Octavious has been with us since December 2013. Does well in a car, he is outgoing, likes to play and has energy to burn. He has a kennel mate.
'ROBERT" -- Over a year old, neutered male. Robert has been at the shelter since November 2013. He is working on some commands, sit and not too pull when walking on a leash. He has been doing well with these commands. High-energy dog.
'TOBY" 2 yr old neutered male Terrier mix. High energy. He has been at the shelter since December 27, 2013.
"SEBASTIAN" - 1 yr old male. Sebastian has been with us since August 2013. He is best if only dog in household (even though he has a kennel mate).
"THOR" 1 yr 10 month neutered male. Thor was tied up outside of the Emergency parking lot of the Hospital. However after advertising him and calling the hospital to find out if any emergencies that evening had a dog? No one had come forward for Thor. He is good on a leash with some tugging; he would make a fine family dog. Thor has been with us since December 2013.
'PUGSLEY" - 1 yr old neutered male; Pugsley was adopted as a pup, sadly he was brought back to the shelter (February 2104) because his owner got sick and could not give him the attention he needs. He is a puppy at heart.
"GINGER" - 2 yr old female. Ginger had pups when she was brought to the shelter. Her pups have found their forever homes now it's her turn. Ginger is mild manner very sweet.
"MACK" - 1 yr 7 month Terrier mix. This outgoing mellow fellow is calling out for his forever home.
"TOPPY" 11 month old Terrier mix. This bouncy girl came to the shelter (March 2014) after being hit by a car. She had a broken leg and some road rash on her back. Her injuries are healed now and she is ready to be someone's companion.
"DAWN", 11 month, Terrier mix. Dawn was brought to the shelter last October as a pup. How she got passed up, we will never know.
"ROBIN" 10 month Terrier mix. Kind of the same story with Robin as was with Dawn (her kennel buddy) she too was brought in as a pup, September 2013.
"CHAMPAGNE" 1 yr old 5mos, Terrier mix. Been with us since November 2013. Champagne, has a bubbly personality.
"PICKCHU" - 1 yr 5 month Terrier mix. This full figured gal is sweet easy to walk and would make anyone happy. Pickchu tested low positive for heartworm.
"MUDD" 1 yr 6 month old Terrier mix. Been with us since September 2013. She has some energy to burn. If you are a jogger or a walker or have a few children in the family she may very well be the dog you are looking for.
"BEULAH" - 1 yr 6 months old Terrier. Beulah is absolutely beautiful. She has been at the shelter since October 2013. She will capture your heart.
"MARIPOL" - 2 yrs. This elegant lady has the looks of a greyhound. She likes walks and also kisses. Maripol has been with us since November 2013.
"JASMINE" 1 year 6 months Terrier mix. Jasmine was brought to the shelter in March 2014. She went into a foster home and was with children, dog and cat. She got along with everyone. So if you are looking for a family dog Jasmine is your dog.
"SKIPPY" 1 yr 3 mos. Skippy has been with us since August of 2013. He was a pup when he came to us and all he knows is his kennel. High energy.
"WOODY" 9 month Terrier. This picture does not do this little guy justice. Woody has been with us since March 2014. Would make a good family dog.
"ADAM" - 2 yrs. Adam has a great laid-back personality.
"ROSCOE" 10 month Terrier mix. Roscoe has been with us since January 2014. Roscoe has an affectionate nature and has a great sense of fun.
"PUKIN" 1 yr and 4 month old Terrier mix. Pukin has graced our FB page as Pet of the Day. So why is this fun handsome dog still here? Come and meet him and in return he will give you all the kisses you could stand.
"CLOVER" 2 yr old spayed Terrier mix. Clover was originally adopted from our shelter last year. Her adopter loved her and cared for her well. Unfortunately he became ill and had to go to the states. Clover was returned May 2014. Give this beautiful girl a 2nd chance.
"TEDDY" 1 yr old male. Teddy is a cool looking dog and he is cool too, just look at his smile. He has been with us since January of this year.
"BARB" 2 yr old spayed Terrier mix. Just look at her sweet face, she is saying come and take me home, I will be your best friend. So what do ya say? Come see her in Kennel 12.
"NUGGET" 1 year old spayed Chihuahua mix. Nugget loves her belly rubbed and is a gentle girl. Best part she LOVES TOYS! She has been with us since February of this year. Come make her acquaintance.
"WENDY" -- 1 year old Terrier mix. Wendy is gentle and. She has been here as long as Robin and Dawn, they are all kennel mates.

Bump
Bumpity bump!
how has the adoption going alana? it is so sad st. thomas seems to have so many more dogs up for adoption than st. croix. after we lost our 14 year old minature pinscher remi, our home just didn't feel right with 1 dog. we wanted to adopt a small dog ,but not a puppy.st. croix had no small dogs available {which is a good thing!}at that time . we found our SASHA in an ad with a picture in the daily news.caribbean country 93.5 radio station donated a ticket to me so i could fly from st. croix to st.thomas to adopt her. SHE HAS BEEN SUCH A SOURCE OF JOY TO US!! we have always had 2,3 pets who would amuse us with their antics but sasha has made us laugh out loud every day we have had her ! please keep us posted in the progress of the adoptions.everyone needs to experience the joy of adopting a shelter dog!
I have always had rescues whether they found me and decided they would adopt me or someone found me for them and I decided a new addition could be accommodated. Seems that love increases exponentially!
They always put a smile on my face, laughter in my heart and they are all pretty darned good watch dogs, too. Woud have missed not having them in my life, each and every single one, over the years.
I'll try to update on the progress of this effort but there are so many animals that are brought into or shelters daily and/or must be euthanized, daily, that the task is daunting and sad beyond words.
I am so happy you found your bundle of joy thru HSSTT.
I can only hope many others can do the same whether it's thru your STX shelter or ours, (or STJ's) they are all our island dogs and deserve good loving homes.
couldn't agree with you more!!
