Has our country gone crazy?
We all know that it has! Check out this latest piece and feel free to add more stories.
An 11 year old girl is selling mistletoe in the park to help raise money for braces. She is told that she must stop because she needs a business license to sell mistletoe. She is told that she can BEG instead. Begging is a form of free speech and is allowed. No wonder the country is in the shape it's in.

The same thing happens with kids lemonade stands. No longer allowed.

The problem is that government is out of control. We have people that we pay sitting around making rules for us to follow. If they don't add new rules to the bloated list every year they feel that they are not productive. Why don't we set a limit. If you want to add a new law then you have to remove an old one, at least one.
People have been jailed for selling raw milk labeled as raw milk and growing food in their yards. Yes, the Gov't is out of control.
I know, it's all about people not getting their Obamacare and it's driving them CRAZY!
Quite the virtual Socrates Café here.
empires rise and empires fall.
the available data indicate that is the nature of human societies.
ours is collapsing from it's success - just as those before us.
the USA won't be taken down from the outside but from within - just as those before us.
IMO the main difference, and it is a biggie, is in today's world gvt control over the individual is so much greater. what happens when a tiny UAV can be dispatched to zap any individual?
ultimately when there are more drones than worker bees how can the hive survive?

"RollerBall"? "Idiocracy"? Both?
No our country hasn't gone crazy.....it's just gone stupid especially when students in our country rank 31st in the world while Shanghi's ranks # 1.
A proper education would solve a world of problems here in the US. Good manners and a proper upbring would help greatly as well.

The national debt problem has been solved! All the president has to do is direct the Treasury to issue a few One Trillion Dollar coins and pay the debt off with them. Can you imagine the look on the faces of the Chinese who hold many US Treasury notes.
Supporters of the platinum coin option say that under a 1996 law allowing the Treasury Department to mint a platinum coin in any denomination, the president could order the manufacture of, say, a $1 trillion coin that would be deposited in the Federal Reserve. The Treasury Department would then use the platinum coin funds to meet government obligations without the need for Congress to grant any additional spending powers.
