Got Car Jacked

I was picking my roommate up last night from the boardwalk and had parked behind government lot. Walked past Nates and after getting in the car, two kids came running at me, one with a gun. I tried to drive away, put he reached through the window and put the gun in my face. Then stole my wallet and phone.

If anybody has a cheap car for sale, let me know please. Cops are doing all they can, I'm sure. It's a convertible Chrysler if you see it.

I'm fine. I don't think she had much insurance on it either, so she is screwed. I feel awful for her. (my roommate and car owner)

Damn kids with a gun.

I'm glad I'm fine too and thanks y'all. I seriously doubt they find the car in any kind of okay condition.

Another reason why I am thankful we left before anything really bad happened to us!

Glad you were not harmed. This sounds like the same two young men who have robbed at gun point 5 Seaborne personnel. The police are aware that this is happening and the people from Seaborne actually met with the governor to discuss that they are being targeted. Why is there no police patrolling that specific area?

Yeah, the cops said "it's not safe over there" I said "no shit, is that why you guys never go there?".

Glad to hear you are okay. Jamison.
Sorry about the loss of the car, your wallet, cell phone and what must have been an awful experience.
At least you are in one piece.
Hope they catch the thieves and find the car, soon.

And then what? Slap them on the pee pee, shout at them and let them go because they're related to someone? Please.

Maybe we should post some big signs from Nates all the way to Seaborne and to government parking. " Don't walk or park here. Two young men, one with a 9mm, is robbing people every night. The police and Governor do not care. Do not refuse to give them your cell phone or wallet as they will say, "wrong answer" and will cock the 9mm and put it against your face and will probably kill you if you don't do what they say." The police know who they are and know what they look like so I guess Tiberius is right and they are related to someone or maybe just sharing the profits.

I don't think the related to someone idea is true anymore. I feel that the investigation bureau is highly incompetent. Period.
Sorry to hear about your mishap.

wow Jamison, so sorry to hear but glad you are ok, too!

Do you think these are the 2 young punks who robbed Dashi (what happened to them, anyway? Are they still in jail?)
Yeah seriously, a sign needs to be put up, to warn people!!!

The Dashi kids are still locked up, at least Shortie is. I think this is a different group, but probably from the same section though.

My roommate asked a cop she saw yesterday if there was any word on her car. The cop said "what happened? wow, that sounds awful, I didn't hear anything about that". Pathetic.

Perhaps if all the businesses on the boardwalk got together they could hire private patrols. Although those seem to be made up of off duty cops usually.

It's all happening in the same place. It would be easy to turn the attackers into victims with a quickness.

The hoodlums have your keys and (most likely) address. Be careful. Tam, why limit the notices to posters along the boardwalk? Why not hand them out to hotel and condo guests? Seems like until either a cop is shot or tourist dollars are in play, no action happens. At the very least Seaborn should be advising passengers.

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate crime.

What color/model/year/plate#, distinguishing marks/stickers? - There are a few sebring convertables out there so any info will help. Lots of folks read the board and can keep an eye out.

No stickers or anything special. 05 Chrysler sebring convertible, silver. Really nice car. I think there is one other silver one and a red one here.

Maybe someone can attend the Senate meeting on May 2.

The Avis published this info:

The Committee on Homeland Security, Justice and Public Safety has scheduled a committee meeting at the Frits E. Lawaetz Conference Room on St. Croix at 9am to give business owners, community organizations and the general public the opportunity to present tesimony relative to criminal activity (victimization) and suggested methods of minimizing the occurrence of crime and enhancing safety within the community.

Maybe someone from Seaborne can attend and present testimony relative to how these thugs and miscreants are terrorizing the Seaborne area.

Maybe this will help, maybe not.
