Hi

Just wondering if anyone has used ecigs and if so what do you think of them.

Buy a good one and you'll love it. Buy a cheap commercial one and...um...no, not so much.

I used one for almost a year. It became too expensive for the atomizers and juice. If u get a simple one then it'll be cheaper. Mine was a fancy fancy one. Get a decent one but not the higher end ones. I would get the "eGo". i had one at first and liked it but if you're a heavy smoker as i was (this was 4 years ago) the eGo will be annoying as you have to fill it often. Get a ecig that will fit a tank tip or a full tank or youll be filling it a lot. I smoke here and there now real cigs. Not nearly as much as I did in the states and usually only when I drink, which I've cut back on too lol.

It's gotta be healthier than real cigs. Taste better and doesn't smell. Dang maybe I will get another one lol.

The Greensmoke is one of the cheap commercial ones, speee1dy. It will get you started though. If you like it, buy a good one!

If you have to keep buying atomizers or cartridges, it can be a bit expensive. Tanks leak. Flavor matters.

I recommend a variable volt with a rebuildable atomizer. Make your own juice. Flavors are subjective but I find that the flavors at vapingzone.com are spot on.

I spend perhaps $5/month on supplies and haven't had a ciggie in over 2 years 🙂

It's a huge learning curve. You chose well for just getting started. Keeping it simple will let you simply enjoy it.

When you're ready, there are some awesome products out there. Feel free to PM me if you need help speee1dy.

My set up has a chip with tons of safety features in it. I can tweak every aspect of it. It kicks like a mule and the flavor is just plain yummy.

Read the forums I linked to. Anything and everything you want to know is there. It's a great group of people.

No more phlegm. Gone. No more hacking coughs. Gone. Stamina? Heh heh, it's a gradual change.

I don't use it in most of those places just out of consideration for others. Then again, I may or may not have done a little stealth vaping in the hospital. 😀 You're not as addicted to them as you are to smokes so it's easy to go without. Many states regulate them like ciggies so they're banned everywhere ciggies are banned. The VI didn't address it so the smoking bans don't apply to ecigs. Lots of folks flying with them have reported no problems carrying them on the plane.

What mg of nic did you go with?

Cool. 6mg is really tame. If you're using these to try to quit smoking, you might want to pick up a few stronger cartridges to get you through the rough spots.

The difference between 5mg and 6mg may not make much of a difference but I remember reading that nicotine in an ecig is not as readily absorbed.

I've only had 2 times in the last 2 years that I really, REALLY wanted a smoke. No worries. I had a 6V system on hand and mixed up 24mg juice. LOL Problem solved 😀

A lot of people I know (including myself) are now using the same E Cig vaporizor technology for E Joints here in the islands. The marijuana oil in the cartridge is virtually indistinguishable from the nicotine cartridge and inert so that it cannot be sniffed out by dogs at the airport. There are now several vaporizer brands and replacement cartridges in a variety of strains are readily available in Colorado and other legal states. If you know someone there, they can just mail it to you. Now i can get my medicine without the nasty smoke and not have to deal with the bad guys on the corner!

Interesting... In the VI? Do you have any details, Yearasta? Will they just be included in the cigarette bans?

@Aussie

Technically it is already included in the ban...

The ban is in title 19 http://www.legvi.org/vilegsearch/ShowPDF.aspx?num=27-0218&type=Bill

Although it gives a definition for "smoking" it doesnt give a definition for a "cigarette" so it would appear that ecigs are not covered in the ban.

However, if you look in title 27 § 305d. Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement Model Statute you would find a definition for a cigarette...which says ANY product that contains nicotine.

(4) "Cigarette" means any product that contains nicotine, is intended to be burned or heated under ordinary conditions of use, and consists of or contains (A) any roll of tobacco wrapped in paper or in any substance not containing tobacco; or (B) tobacco, in any form, that is functional in the product, which, because of its appearance, the type of tobacco used in the filler, or its packaging and labeling, is likely to be offered to, or purchased by, consumers as a cigarette; or (C) any roll of tobacco wrapped in any substance containing tobacco which, because of its appearance, the type of tobacco used in the filler, or its packaging and labeling, is likely to be offered to, or purchased by, consumers as a cigarette described in clause (A) of this definition. The term "cigarette" includes "roll-your-own" (i.e., any tobacco which, because of its appearance, type, packaging, or labeling is suitable for use and likely to be offered to, or purchased by, consumers as tobacco for making cigarettes). For purposes of this definition of "cigarette," 0.09 ounces of "roll-your-own" tobacco shall constitute one individual "cigarette."

With the above wording (since ecigs containe nicotine) in T27 tied in to T19's Ban....technically it's covered in the ban.

Senator Sanes' office is working on cleaning it up a bit, the major point of his bill is to prevent ecigs from being sold to minors...which once again from above it's already covered but not very clear.

Hope this helped

THAT WAS INTERESTING AS WAS THE BIT ABOUT MARIJUANA. SINCE THERE IS NOT TOBACCO IN THEM, SOME PLACES IN THE STATES AS WELL AS HERE ALLOW THEM. BUT NOT PLANES. BLOOMBERG WANTS THEM BANNED ALL TOGETHER FOR USE ANYWHERE.
I AGREE THEY SHOULD NOT BE SOLD TO KIDS UNDER 18, JUST WRONG. BUT IS IT ANY DIFFERENT THAT THE CANDY CIGS WE HAD AS CHILDREN?

I've seen the vaporizers for marijuana here in the VI...no smell whatsoever when exhaling, just vapor.

I've been using cigs for years and have spent a small fortune trying different brands. For me, me ecig of choice is Storm I get from Vapetopis.com and have stayed with them for over a year now. Thy just came out with a super battery that I just ordered! From all the brands, I get mor vapor and this company has lots of flavors, I prefer their menthol, that come is a rely good large variety of nicotine strengths.

The over the counter ready ones with no rechargeable aren't worth spit!

I travel a lo and never have problems In airport corridors. But, don't vape on plane or at the gate! Got n trouble at STX airport for gaping at the car rental counter last year. Officer, well, she couldn't understand it wasn't smoking. Saw sign there Thursday the said VI law prohibited smoking in ALL public spaces. I thought that was strange, as I've read through all of the Title 27.
