Belgium has announced that it will create artificial islands for solar power generation. Yay or Nay on a good idea for USVI? I think it could provide below average cost power without taking up limited land space on the actual islands.

According to my (very rough) calculations, there would need to be about 5,000 of such solar islands, and that's just to generate power for STX along. Efficiency is just not there yet.

Good point! I just thought it was a neat idea. Solar is getting better, but I don't think it is ready for widespread power consumption yet.
