I understand that the conventional zombies may appear like a nuisance compared to the USVI government bureaucrats, but the posted document contains references to special type of zombies, called CZ (chicken zombies). Given the number of wild chickens in USVI, it would be good to know the survival tactics when these chickens turn into CZs.

I have a trap. I'm prepared.

We would be better off than the states.

1. Zombies don't swim.
2. The sea provides a geographic boundary.
3. Most deaths in the apocalypse are from lack of food and water. We have food potential year round and self contained water storage through cisterns.
4. Zombies wouldn't go where the economy sucks.

Given the number of wild chickens in USVI, it would be good to know the survival tactics when these chickens turn into CZs.

I was thinking along the same lines. It would probably take a while before zombies reach USVI. However, once they make it here, it would be much more difficult to cope with them. There is simply nowhere to run and hide!

Here are two other factors to consider:

1. According to the Pentagon document, zombies are vulnerable to UV light. This makes USVI appealing for human survival.

2. According to the same document, asteroid strikes can cause the mutation of people into zombies. That's troubling, because in September of 2015, a big asteroid is expected to hit the Earth near Puerto Rico.

If an asteroid hits near PR, I don't think we will have to worry about zombies. There would be none of us left to do any worrying.

The countdown has begun! There are 10 days to go before the asteroid strike and the subsequent zombie apocalypse.

In preparation for the event, I searched for documented cases of zombie encounters, and found this:

On Friday morning July 5th, 2013 a real Zombie washed up on the beach in the US Virgin Islands. It is being reported that it was at one time a real live breathing human but that when it washed ashore on Friday on a U.S. Virgin Island Beach it was still alive and missing all its skin.

The local police observed it attempt to attack paramedics who had tried to check out what at first was thought to be a deceased body. When it did not stop or die when it was shot the local police feared they had a real zombie attack going on. One officer ran from the scene when he saw what was going on.

A man from the United States mainland took the pistol that had been thrown down by the police officer who ran away and fired several shots into the head of the zombie killing it on the beach. He kicked its head away from its body and told the crowd that had gathered that its dead now.

U.S. Army officers arrived on the beach a few minutes later and ordered people back away from the zombie. They made everyone move away and would not let anyone near the body laying on the beach.

The body was later taken away by U.S. Army medical staff but no one knows where they took the body to.

It was later revealed by people who had seen the body up close that it had very little skin and that when it first washed up on the beach it was still like a dead body would be. They said it was only after people gathered on the beach and started looking at the body everyone assumed to be dead that it woke up and started snarling and tried its best to attack several people there on the beach. It was then that the local police shot the supposed zombie several times but it did not die. It only got louder and snarled at the men who were shooting at it.

A man later identified as a man from the U.S. mainland picked up a gun a local policeman had thrown down and shot the snarling zombie several times in the head killing it. He also kicked the head loose from the body.

Several people on the beach said that they had never smelled anything that smelled that bad. Several people thought that the whole thing was a publicity stunt but the local police say that no it was a real incident.

It was at about this time that the U.S. Army showed up and took custody of the zombie body and the scene. They also took into custody the man who shot the zombie. The U.S. Army refused to make any statement about the incident.

Then I turned my attention to the Holy Book, and this is where it gets interesting. As it turns out, there would be 2 types of zombies.

1. "Bad" zombies. Examples:
"And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths." - Zechariah 14:12
"And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them." - Revelation 9:6

2. "Good" zombies. Example:
"And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many." -Matthew 27:51-53

Now, my question is, if you encounter a zombie, how do you tell a saint zombie from a sinner zombie? And if both zombies attack you, would you resist one and submit to another, on the basis of their relationship to Jesus?

NASA: There is No Asteroid Threatening Earth

Numerous recent blogs and web postings are erroneously claiming that an asteroid will impact Earth, sometime between Sept. 15 and 28, 2015. On one of those dates, as rumors go, there will be an impact -- "evidently" near Puerto Rico -- causing wanton destruction to the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States and Mexico, as well as Central and South America.

That's the rumor that has gone viral -- now here are the facts.

In fact, NASA's Near-Earth Object Observations Program says there have been no asteroids or comets observed that would impact Earth anytime in the foreseeable future. All known Potentially Hazardous Asteroids have less than a 0.01% chance of impacting Earth in the next 100 years.
