You've got to be kidding!
F*&% up, move up.
I'm obviously missing the point - what's the problem with this appointment?
I couldn't believe it at first myself...but that's politics I guess.
Isn't this the same woman who misrepresented that Mapp's rent was only $4,000 when it was more than triple that amount? And she gets a promotion?
Same one, Kim Jones.
I've no horse in this race but even the Consortium reported back then that Ms Jones "purportedly" told a local newspaper of the $4K rent and in the same article, Mapp referred to the figure as"erroneous".
It's actually not a promotion, however it is in line with her education.
she used to be on the radio? and wasnt there something going on with her ???

You can find out all about her on a quick internet search.
I believe she has a nursing degree from UVI.
I'd say moving from support staff (public relations) to managerial (Deputy Commish with hundreds of subordinate employees) is a promotion. It looks pretty good on a resume to be Deputy Commissioner of a state-level agency.
She may very well receive an "Honorable" honorific now (I know Commissioners do). THE HONORABLE Kimberly Jones--great ring to it!
Director of an entire department to a deputy commissioner,
Let's not forget she managed Salt River Marina..........
So is there a problem with her having worn many different hats? I'm confused.
Well Alana? You started this. What's the problem?
From spokesperson for Mapp to deputy director of Health with only a nursing degree is a bit of a leap, especially since the appointed director has no qualifications for his position.

She has considerably more of an employment history than that - and "only" a nursing degree? Look her up. It's an administrative position which requires good organizational skills.
She sure did a "bang up job" as spokesperson.
Here's a little more, which prompted my post.

The one incident you apparently are referring to as the basis for the "bang up job" she did as Mapp's spokesperson was addressed earlier. The civil (not criminal) case against her remains in limbo.
Consider the level of nepotism and cronyism happening in Mapp's administration with friends and 40 plus relatives, filling positions that they are not qualified to hold. Then there's his recently hired administrative assistant who is a nurse to caregive his mother at taxpayer expense. Just saying.....
I was asked why I started this.
You don't have to agree.
It's strictly my point of view.

Of course. But surely that doesn't preclude others disagreeing with or questioning your opinion.
So your dislike of her in the position has nothing to do with her qualifications or experience. It has to do with others who got positions without being qualified.
Um, yeah. That makes sense.
Glad you think she's qualified.
From AARP VI on her appointment to the JFL Hospital board in 2014:
"As an AARP VI member serving on the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital Board, Kimberly Jones will be in a prime position to advocate for improving the quality of care provided to the 50+ population residing on St. Croix. Jones is also a Licensed Practical Nurse and has had direct patient care experience working at the JFL Hospital as a peritoneal dialysis nurse. She is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) certified medical billing specialist and has additional experience helping to set up the Virgin Islands Kidney Center and working to help medical units achieve compliance with CMS standards. Jones no longer works at the JFL Hospital. - See more at: http://states.aarp.org/aarp-vi-member-appointed-to-st-croix-hospital-board/#sthash.wL1fw6AF.dpuf "
