Part of the Christmas Festival celebrated by parade, dance, music, masquerade, food and drink. Bands compete off flat Bed trailers, people follow sing and dance. They pick King and Queen of the bands on the same date. King and Queen comp was cancelled this year due to lack of participation of the bands. The French word Jour Ouvert means "opening day'"the creole word Jou ouve means "is it daybreak yet" take your pick of J'ouvert. On many of the Caribbean islands Jovert is the start of carnival.
