Would appreciate any views on Doctors Choice Pharmacy
Good evening!
Would appreciate any ones input on Doctors Choice Pharmacy.......
What i have heard has been good...........
Interested to know about which locations are in the nicer areas to live in or anything else you can tell me.
Thinking about a move to STT.. Im in the medical field.
Thank you
any response or PM appreciated
I'm gathering that means you are a pharmacist?
I can't tell you anything about the ins and outs of that specific group, because Chelsea Drug Store has such EXCELLENT customer service, I would not go anywhere else, but on an island of 13 by 3 miles, chances are you won't live that close to your work place, so don't worry. But do come down, look around, see what you think. And welcome!:-)
Good morning East Ender,
Yes, I am a Pharmacist.
Is Chelsea on STT? The only (walk-in retail) pharmacies I could find on STT were Doctors Choice .
I would be interested to know any other pharmacies anyone is using on STT that they can recommend.
I am aware of Kmart as well but am looking more for the family-type atmosphere of an independent pharmacy.
Can't thank the members here enough for the immense amount of information I have found here. Ive done a ton of reading.
Thanks!
unfortunately, I have experience in this matter. K-mart usually has the best prices but the worst customer service. The pharmacists are nice but the lines and the clerks are tedious.
Dr's Choice in Time Center was always courteous and budget conscious but the location makes traffic often difficult.
Chelsea is great. Prices are a little higher but the customer service is wonderful and they rarely seem to run out of the right drugs.

There are lots of old threads here that you might want to read. The link below shows vimovingcenter.com pages with the word "pharmacist":

Dang. I miss Trade. And dntw8up....
To wahoo: There are other pharmacies like Medicine Shoppe and Drug Farm (always sounds like a pot field for some reason) as well. Chelsea is located in Red Hook, I think they also have a store on St John. If you are looking for jobs on the internet, it will be difficult. This is a good reason to come down and look around first hand.
There is Healthly Living Pharmany in Barbel Plaza. The owner is the pharmacist and he has one assistant. Customer service is great. You are in and out within 10 minuntes. Prices are reasonable.
Thank you all! I am trying to comprise a list of them all so I can visit each one on my PMV Im planning..............That link you provided STXBob
was just what I needed.......very encouraging!! Thanks!
The pharmacies where you all receive great service is what I'm interested in .
I use the Dr.Choice pharmacy in Sub Base -- the service has been excellent and very friendly - quite a few different pharmacists seem to work there and they have all been helpful - it is convenient for me and they matched my Kmart prices when I switched.
Guess nobody uses the phone book anymore, especially the Yellow Pages? That's the best place to find all the pharmacies in the VI. Nobody's mentioned The Medicine Shoppe in Havensight, and there are a few others I can think of that haven't been mentioned. There's a link to the VI Phone Book on the Virgin Islands Daily News site, I think.
I'm wondering how the OP found Doctor's Choice?
I will look in the yellow pages as well.......It's the experience of you living there now I'm most interested in.
I figure if you like visiting a particular pharmacy, I would enjoy working there.
I came across it in another post, a person had relocated and accepted a position there.
Thank you!

East Ender did mention Medicine Shoppe, but I guess she wasn't specific enough for you that she didn't provide the location for OP, which is Havensight. Bldg. 4
She also mentioned Drug Farm, which is located in Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center and VI Medical Foundation Bldg. behind the hospital.
Another pharmacy located behind the hospital is Tradewinds Pharmacy in the Paragon Bldg.
Doctor's Choice locations in Stt: Sub Base (newest one opened & also largest, Exit Zero discussed), Times Center (Pamela discussed), Wheatley Shopping Center (closest to hospital, good parking, busy), Medical Arts Bldg. (Contant, smallest, parking difficult)
No, Beachcomber, when I read the comment about Drug Farm, it kind of overshadowed everything else in that post.
I just checked the phone book, and I think all the STT pharmacies have now been mentioned.
I don't have prescriptions filled on a regular basis, so I would not be the person who could recommend a pharmacy. The last time I had to fill a prescription I went to the one in VI Medical Foundation Bldg and they couldn't fill it because the pharmacist was out to lunch, so I went to the one in the next building, Paragon, and had it filled there. I think that was the pharmacy that gave me a very detailed information sheet about the medication, and I really appreciated that. Don't know if that's standard practice, though, because it's probably been 20 years or so since I had a prescription filled.
I like the openess, though, of the pharmacies at VI Medical Foundation and Tradewinds in the Paragon Bldg. You can see what the pharmacists are doing. I find it kind of intimidating when the pharmacist is on a platform behind a huge counter, and all you can see is their head. Not friendly at all, IMO!
Thanks so much for your experiences and information.........
having a location to go with a name is particularly helpful.......
Now all I have to do is figure out where they all are !!!
Friendly is everything ms411.........If I don't know my customers by name I feel like I'm not doing my job.
Just ordered the Settlers Guide.........and checking the yellow pages.
Have a happy day!
You're welcome, wahoo, and good luck!
BTW, a Walgreen's is opening "soon" near the KMart in Tutu. Some people not in the pharmacy biz are very excited, because of Walgreen's prices. They haven't started on the building yet, I don't think, but they've excavated the land in preparation. Though you may want a family-type atmosphere, you might start here and keep looking. Just a thought.
Interesting ms411.........you've been a big help thank you.
Would be nice to arrive on a one way ticket instead of roundtrip!
Ive had the desire to do this inside me for a long time.
Now is the right time but I can't do it without a job.
At 40 I've got alot of work still left in me !!!
thanks!
