Word from East End Post-Maria
I have been in contact with my husband who rode out the storm in our home in Green Cay. Our home sustained no apparent damage 🙂 though obviously it's too early to determine potential long-term effects.
Without assistance from Tim who helped get the hurricane shutters on the back of our house at the last minute, I suspect the outcome would be quite different. We are grateful.
The infrastructure to the island is wiped out from his purview. Miss Bea Road is unpassable with broken power poles. He's not been able to get up to East End Road yet to assess what that looks like. Cell service on East End is working sporadically.
He reports it was a crazy ride last night, far worse than Hugo on STJ or Marilyn on STT.
I hope all STX residents came out equally unhurt and respectful of the shear power of nature.

Oops double post
Resort didn't fare too well. Will not reopen until sometime in November. Casino had flooding.
I hope your property is okay

Thanks. Prooerty definitely has some damage but nothing compared to a lot of others so I would say we are lucky. Roof is still on the main house and cottage. Car port is damaged, there's flooding throughout, 3 broken windows with shutters missing, pool pump and exposed materials damaged along with my A.C. flipped over and lots of landscaping thrown all over.
Thanks for checking. We are hoping to come on asap to try to fix some of the issues.
