WOOT! One of my Pics chosen out of 15,000 for National Geographic online.
I submitted one of my pictures from the Frederiksted Pier in STX to National Geographic assignment "Biodiversity". Out of 15,672 it was one of 24 chosen to be featured. I wish it was being printed but hey its a start lol. Ive always been a huge fan of NG and growing up it was what I always thumbed through.

Congrats!!
This is fantastic Adrian!!
Wow! Super congrats!! I look at NG's daily dozen EVERY DAY. Love all the culture and nature and just general new perspectives. Such an honor to be chosen by them.
Congrats, your photo is beautiful, as are so many others you've taken. Thank you for sharing them 🙂 smile

I don't doubt it a bit, your photography is fabulous.

Thanks so much everyone! (tu)
How exciting. Congratulations.:D
Really, really cool - kudos! 🙂
I'm also curious what the editor asked you, did you turn up the saturation or are the colors really that bright and vibrant? I have never been able to get over my claustrophobia to go diving and people say how beautiful it is under the pier.
Beautiful Gratz!
No this picture isn't enhanced for color but I did turn up the definition a bit. It just makes it more clear. This was taken free diving - no scuba. I get why people think its color enhanced. I sent them the original with the response "WOW". lol The editor said he has seen a lot of color underwater but none quite like this. He also said he would like to make it to STX now to see the pier as I gave him the link to my photo gallery.
Next week I will be putting several handfuls of my photos down at the store in Havensight... to the right of Royal Caribbean... I forget the name LOL! If anyone from here buys one LMK and I will meet up and sign then for you. Maybe one day they'll be worth something lol. ;~)
So beautiful. You definitely have a gift.
Impressive... and an absolute honor... Coming from an NG freak that constantly watches their networks...
I have one of your photos of the rainbow over magens bay and feel it's worth a lot to me signed or not:)
Thanks Mike I am thrilled you love it!!
This pic deserves a recognition by NG. Very well done, AandA2VI.
Is that the highest resolution that you have, or is it the one scaled down for posting?
Have you ever thought of doing photography professionally? My home town of Mt. Dora Florida, which is 25 miles north of orlando has several art & craft shows each year. We sponsor a HUGE Arts festival for the past 40 years or so that has about 500,000 attendants over a weekend period and about 150 vendors, which occurs the first weekend in Feb each year. Then there's the Crafts Fair in October, which garners about 250,000 visitors over a two day weekend. For a town of less than 20,000 people that's quite a deal. Then Orlando and Leesburg which are 20-25 miles from Mt. Dora also have Arts Fairs where an artist such as yourself could show case your work.
You have artist that just travel and follow the art shows around the country show casing their art.
Get a booth at the next Tillet's Arts and Crafts Fair.
