WOMEN’S MARCH SET FOR SATURDAY TERRITORY-WIDE

I marched. And I'm proud to have done so. I did not march as anti-Trump. People marched for a wide variety of reasons. It was a positive, energizing experience.

I marched for the environment. I marched for human decency. I marched for everyone to have the right to live the life they want to live.

I did not like Hillary or Trump. I still can't believe that's the best our country has to put forward. Scary indeed.

What else scares me are "alternative facts." When a press secretary's first conference isn't to convey policy, ideas, solutions, but to chastise the media for their inauguration coverage. Seriously? Isn't there more to be discussing? This is the new administration's top priority? It reminded me of middle school students in a he said, she said bullying debate. Juvenile.

When a presidential spokesperson is on Meet the Press and Face the Nation, and doesn't answer the questions asked, but instead spins and evades and discusses "alternative facts." Scary. A fact is a fact. An alternative fact is a twisting of the truth.

And when Trump says he wants to be like Andrew Jackson, the president he feels closest too, I shudder. Because Andrew Jackson lied, went back on his promises, stole land, and forced thousands of American Indians to march on the Trail of Tears. If Trump wants to be a great president, he has to lose the immaturity and the bullying ways. He needs to remember he represents ALL Americans. He needs to present himself as a gentlemen, not a whining, argumentative bully. So far he's not off to a great start.

I don't think Hillary would have been much better. I don't believe in political correctness to the extent where you can't say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah". I think religion should be removed from government. I also feel we should celebrate each other's differences, and cultures. For those of us old enough to remember, just call me Pollyanna. Or Switzerland.

No one should live in fear. Tolerance of others should prevail. Life is short, live it. Smell the flowers. Savor the beautiful place we have the privilege to live. Every human being should have access to clean air, clean water, essential health services, healthy food, shelter, and the freedom to be themself.

Treasure every moment. Do good. Practice random acts of kindness. Be nice. And if I drop dead 10 minutes from now, I'll know that's how I lived.

I know the "trolls" on here will rip me apart, but honestly the only opinion that matters to me is my own. Be nice people.

With all due respects to you Idlewood4, how you could say Hillary would not have been much better is beyond my imagination. I suggest you take 15 minutes out of your schedule today and look up the various movements and initiatives she has been active in since being a Yale Law school student. Quoting President Obama, she was the most qualified person to ever run for the Presidency of this country.

If Bernie felt Hillary stole the nomination from him he certainly would not have come out to support her. Bernie would have taken the race... Unless clintion goes to prison, I think DJT was basically handed the election via the media and their constant coverage & him being set up as a quasi-underdog in the eyes of the majority of nearly all of the population living out side large cities.

Its only natural that the leadership of the party would favor someone who had been a lifelong democrat and has as great of a resume as she has. Bernie was an independent and only recently converted to the Democrat party so why would the DNC leadership trust him.

The Bottom line is, as repeat what President Obama said. No one in the history of the country who ever ran for President was as qualified as Mrs. Clinton. How she lost an election after defeating the celebrity by 3 million votes I find that astounding. If this happened in a so called third world country people would be complaining about how corrupt and backward that society must be to allow such a situation.

Is this what society has come to under the 1 week we have been under Trump. It is now acceptable to mimic people with disabilities, judge a woman's ability to do a job by the way they look rather than their mental abilities, brag about grabbing women's body parts, insult the pope, deny a soldier who was killed in war was a hero because of their religious persuasion, ban people from entering the country because of their religious persuasion, file for bankruptcy 4 times, support the leader of an enemy country over the intelligence community of your own country, continue to accuse people of committing a crime even though they have been proven innocent and the real offender has confessed and now serving time (Central Park 5), make fake statements about seeing Arabs citizens in Jersey celebrating the WTC disaster. The list goes on. - Under Trump we have the new phrase "Alternative Facts", which means lies. To Trump, never let the truth interfere with a good story.
The reason I call his supporters "Stupid" is because there are just to many negative incidents involving this person and to disregard them as being a part of his character is Stupid. If the shoe fits wear it.

Have you watched and listened to the protesters when they are interviewed?
Most of them sound dumb as a load of firewood.
