Will my cats be okay when I fly?
Hi everyone!
I've asked before and have gotten an answer for this, but since my departure time draws ever closer, I need reassurances. My sig. other and I are flying down w/our 3 cats. Due to size and quantity restrictions, we will have to check them into the baggage hold. This will be in late April, so we shouldn't have a problem with temperature extremes.
To make me worry even more, we are making our connection in San Juan. So that's a total of two planes our kitties will have to be boarded onto. Has anyone been in this situation, and if so, could you enlighten me as to what your experiences were? I don't want to place my babies in danger, but there doesn't seem to be another way of getting them down there.
Thanks,
Celeste
I've moved across the globe (5 planes & a 3 day journey) with my dogs. They, too, are my babies. I made sure that their crates were well labeled in addition to the required, "live animal" stickers & id info, etc. Too, each time I boarded a plane I let the airline staff know that I was traveling with my pets & to please let me know when they were on board. I also alerted staff at each destination & asked after their whereabouts & well being. I was always very friendly & not agressive & airline personnel were helpful. I have several friends who have also flown w/pets & all was well. Good luck on your move w/your kitties!
thanks for the reassurances!!! we all feel better now. thanks from the 5 of us!!
