Hi, I am a 22 year old single californian female and planning a move to VI. I have been researching St Thomas but hoping I can get some insight on which island would be best for me. I am planning to go in September and stay for at least a year. I am a bartender/server and would love to work/live in a lively area. Is there an area that that is mainly inhabitied by people in the 20ties? I live life in the fast line and am looking for a easy paced island lifestyle as well as a fun carefree adventure.
Thanks, Alaina

Hello Alaina,

Welcome to the board. I would recommend pushing your date from September to October unless you have some pressing reason for a September move. Reason: Season picks up in late October. September is one of the slower months of off season and its the height of hurricane/storm activity.

Residential areas here aren't much affected by age, for that matter not much is, besides perhaps the bar scene.

I think St. Thomas will suit you. It inables you to easily day trip to St. John, BVI, Water Island, St. Croix - explore - something new residents enjoy doing. Lots of young people move down during season so you will meet people your age. Also with the cruise ships/on island guest combo there is lots of work to be found in restaurants; particularly during season.
