Where to go for a hair cut?

julie: It would probably help if you specified the kind of hair that you have. Many local island stylists know how to deal with black (African) hair, Asian hair, Caucasian hair and all the inbetweens (bleached, extensions, braiding) etc whereas some specialize in one or more.

Sorry! But I have Caucasian hair and it's some what of a trendy hair cut. If I have to I can wait until I go back to the mainland to get it cut. I was just checking to see if anyone knew of someone good.

I go to Indulgence in Sunny Isle. The owner, Crystal, did a good job with the cut and foil highlighting. They also do manicures and pedicures.

Go to Nelson at Hair Spray.

Not only is he an amazing and wonderful person inside and out he is BETTER and more intuitive than anyone that I have ever found in London or NYC. I do not even have to tell him what to do. He is a stylist and works best when I shut up.
Since I moved to Manhattan I have had so many truly awful $100 hair cuts I am afraid to go to anyone else so I save up my overgrown hair until I have time to fly back to the VI in hopes he will have time to give me a hair cut.

This would be the best place to go. Crystal is awesome and has a great place. She also is a full spa and has Laura who handles black persons hair. She does a great job as well.

Nelson is on St. Thomas, unless Hair Spray moved to STX. I tried for months to call and even went by the shop in Charlotte Amalie, and it was closed. Nelson is awesome. Does anyone know if he is still there?

I would like to second (third?) the reccomendation of Indulgence. I haven't had a professional hair cut in over a year, but my girlie friend goes there and her hair always looks beautiful.

I've been wondering the same thing. Where's a good place to go on STT? I'm caucasian and want a good haircut.

Sherry, Russell at Philip Sturm is good as is Julie at Just Cuts in Buccaneer Mall. I used to go to Dale Berry but sadly he died not too long ago.
