Where to buy a car battery on STX?

Need to buy a replacement car battery for a European SUV on STX. 2 questions:

1) Where to go for the widest selection (I'm hoping the answer isn't NAPA)?
2) Regardless of selection, which store tends to have the best prices for car batteries?

Thanks!

Car Zone (5 corners) next to Church's Chicken has car batteries as does H&H in Sunny Isle (Sion Farm) area. Prices down here for batteries are high vs stateside. Lots of luck.

I like Echo Valley tire in Estate Glynn. Good people. Good service. Fair prices

i just had to recently get a new battery. car zone wanted 191. dollars for one. went to target and got a better battery with one year warranty for 115. called around and for my little battery he was the cheapest.

(can you imagine 191.00 for a little bitty battery)

On STX? Abso-freakin'-lutely. You sure didn't get a Target deal here.

probably means target tire at five corners..we get our tires and batteries there now, after getting bad deals at H&H for years.

Ah. I can still imagine $200 for a car battery here, though. That person's gotta be a little naive about island pricing.

I've gotten most of my car batteries over the years at HH without problem. Tires at Emerald in LaReine.

it was target tire at 5 corners. car zone or auto zone what ever it is was way over the top. H & H were high also.

man at target told me that the cost of importing batteries went up because they are hazardous to bring in. so their cost went up.
hopefully home depot will carry batteries and a bit cheaper.

maybe home depot will have free popcorn. hard to beat that. (gallows bay h. has free popcorn now)

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I stopped by a few places. Echo Valley had surprisingly good prices but I've never heard of their brand (made in USA though) and unfortunately they didn't have the odd size we need for a European car. Car Zone DID have the actual oddity battery (group 49 size) but it's $254 which is about $90 more than it sells for stateside. However after exhaustive searching online I've come to conclude I can't ship a battery directly to my address here and by the time I ship one to VI Cargo and then to here it's not going to be any cheaper and it's going to take a few weeks.

I'm still awaiting my battery tester which might come today and as soon as I verify it's the battery and not the alternator I'm sure I'll be back at Car Zone for a battery (for kicks I might stop in at NAPA to see just how expensive a battery can get first.)

I have now. Target needs me to stop by with the original battery to compare. I called NAPA and they suggested HH. HH has a Deka brand battery in my size for $195 - 10% so about $175 - wahoo!!!

I had never heard of Deka read several reviews in automotive/truck and boat forums and people swear by their longevity (and they're made in the USA to boot.) I'll swing by there in the next day or so to buy the Deka battery.

Thanks all for the help 🙂
