where can I get a parasail job and I need a cheap studio apartment?????
Hi I'm Brent, I am going to be moving to STT in September in hopes of continuing my career on a parasail boat. I am currently a mate but I am working toward my captains license. If anyone has any info about parasail companies there I would greatly appreciate it. Also, any recommendations on a cheap, safe studio apartment?? Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!
Brent: You sound most excited and your enthusiasm is respected, but have you visited one of the first announcements on this forum which indicates that if you're new to the board click here?
There are a couple of parasailing operations here but they're pretty small and even though I looked through the Yellow Pages of the 'phone book, none is listed. Other posters might be able to furnish you with 'phone numbers.
As far as a studio rental is concerned, you have to be here because the geography of the island is as diverse as the population and where you might work (presumably without a car at least in the beginning) has everything to do with where you might look to live.
Go to that first announcement and research all. That really is your best bet. To be honest I don't think big parasailing opportunities abound here.
Sorry that I can't be of more help but I think you're a prime candidate for a pre-move visit (PMV) if you're serious about relocating!
Good luck in your research!
Brent
Call Joe at caribbean parasail.340-775-9360. he has 5-6 boats. might be looking for crew. you already crewing on a parasail boat will really help landing a job.
There are plenty of opportunities on St. Thomas. Its the one section of the boating community that stays fairly busy during the summer, which is a plus. And like JR said, already having experience on parasail boats will be a HUGE asset for you.
Hello,
You might want to check into to staying short term at Pirate's Cove Marina where the only parasail company (that I know of) on STT or STJ is located or they are very close by. http://www.piratescovevi.com/
They did have openings earlier this year and they do have 7 or more boats, so you should definitly check with them. See above number from J.R. for Joe. If that doesn't work out, there are a ton of boats that run daily to weekly tours for snorkeling, diving, etc.
